#1 Market Friday - Granville Island: Vancouver, BC

If you're ever in Vancouver in Canada you should check out Granville Island, which strictly speaking isn't an island as it's walking distance from downtown Vancouver. @dfinney takes us on a tour of this little neighborhood that includes many shops, restaurants, artists studios, theaters and a public market. The island started life as a man made industrial area till it fell to disrepair and was later transformed to a multi use complex. The market is a hit with both locals and tourist and sells a great range of fresh foodstuffs, artisan bakeries and beautiful flowers. If market isn't your thing, then there are over 50 artisan galleries to browse around, or you can just go there to get a great view of the city's skyline.

#2 The Gili Islands in East Lombok, Indonesia

Our second feature post is from @marcelgoo, he takes us island hopping at Lombok in Indonesia. There are 4 small islands around the area and although it takes a while to get there, we're told it's worth it. The first island is Gili Kapal which is in fact a sand bank and gets bigger or smaller depending on the tide. Gili Bidara is a beautiful colorful coral reef perfect for snorkelling. Gili Kondo was the last stop on the island hopping trip, and is a popular camping spot for the locals. The last island Gili Petagan is a mangrove island, nothing special by the sounds of it, 'interesting' was the comment we got.

#3 #95: Ramadan Food Festival

What's the best thing to do in the evenings if you have to observe Ramadan during the day? Attend a food festival of course. @hungry-nomad takes us to a food festival in Bangalore India where food stalls line up many streets around the city in the evenings. There are a great range of mouth watering food including both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Some of @hungry-nomad's favourite are the samosas, kathi roll and patthar gosht which is meat cooked on a rock. To me, Ramadan was always about fasting, now I will never look at it in the same way again.
