Travel Digest

When you trek at 4500m in Peru it seems that even the simplest thing like a slice of bacon taste so much nicer. That's what happened to @planetus when they trekked the Churup Laguna. The trek starts with a two hour ride from their hotel to the start of the trek, and after a three hour climb ascending 700m they reach the most beautiful turquoise lake I've ever seen. The scenery there is so surreal and I total agree, all you should do is to sit there and be grateful you have the opportunity to be there. This is where some of their Bosnian mates treat them to some of their homeland bacon. Not sure if its the bacon, the scenery, or their exhaustion but the snack was all they had on the minds on the descend. It must have been good!

I'm not usually a big fan of zoos and haven't been to one for years, so thanks to @exploreadelaide I really enjoyed going on this virtual trip to the Adelaide Zoo. There are over 2500 animals in the zoo including Sumatran Tigers and Pandas. The zoo is great to teach children more about wildlife as apart from viewing the animals in their enclosures, you can also book interactive sessions with some of the animals and get a bit up close and personal with them. There are a whole host of other facilities in the zoo such as the Envirodome, education classes, nature playground, a Zoobarus for parents to drive their kids around, not to mention restaurants, picnic areas and the zoo shop. Certainly plenty to do for the day. By the way, if you want, you can also hold a party or tie your knot there!

Melbourne seems so far away for everyone apart from the Aussies and Kiwis, so if you can't get there yourself you have to take a look at @ivansnz's post and the brilliant video he's done. The video starts the moment he lands in Melbourne, and takes us to all sorts of mouthwatering eateries, we see the vibriant side of Melbourne, as well a beach and landmarks, and finally the Eureka Skydeck 88 where we get a fantastic bird's eye view of Melbourne. I need to book my ticket now!
