A heavenly place for me in Odessa is a female monastery of the assumption, 4B. When in Odessa, be sure to come there to meditate. Every corner of the monastery is so imbued with love, you want to be there...
So many trees and flowers, everything is fragrant and has to relax. I sit down in the greenery and just in silence for an hour I do not think about anything. It's like cleaning out the trash that's been piling up in our heads.:)
On the territory of the monastery there is a Museum "Christian Odessa". The Museum is unusual. Research and practical work, exhibitions, conferences and many events are held here. I advise you to visit the Museum, you will see a lot of interesting things. Works seven days a week from 9-00 to 17-00.
In South Palmyra, it is the only convent for women. Here is the house of mercy, live old and sick people (more than 120 people). Mother Seraphim, the abbess of the monastery, cares for all living here. The monastery has a teaching Department of the Odessa theological Seminary (100 seminarians):
Regency.
Sewing.
Icon-painting.
Gold-embroidered.
Iconographic and gold embroidery departments are the only ones in Ukraine. Come to training girls and boys, usually artists, but many after school come to the monastery to study. Seminarians are provided with a dormitory.
The monastery was built by Prince M. Vorontsov and his wife 183 years ago. There were, of course, patrons. In 1931, the bell tower and the Cathedral were blown up in the monastery. Since 1942 the activity of the monastery was resumed. But 20 years later he was again closed. Gave the building as a hospital for tuberculosis patients. Rehabilitation and revival of the monastery resumed only in 1991. Gradually all rebuilt and ennobled. The convent is an ornament of Odessa.

From the railway station by bus 2, 3 and 28 tram. Stop: Shevchenko Park (this is the final stop).
