Road Trip Tour Around the Island! Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand! / Viaje de Isla Tour! Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand!

The other day I decided to do the Koh Pha Ngan "Road Trip" tour; which is an all day tour around the island. We stopped at some great places, I made new friends, and had a fantastic time. The tour is a great deal at 500 Thai baht, about 15 dollars US and you have a full day of activities and fun in the sun! Now come along, and let's take a look at the highlights!

Waiting for the Tour to Begin

This is where my day started here in the lobby of the resort I'm staying at, Coral Bungalows. Can you believe I'm only paying seven dollars a night here! The room sleeps three comfortably; that costs less than a half a cup of Starbucks coffee per person!

It was a short wait until the truck came with my tour mates; who were picked up from other resorts around the island. There was a lovely young couple from Australia, two women from Argentina who I enjoyed speaking Spanish with, and a couple youngsters from Japan who were a lot of fun to hang-out with.

First Stop: The Biggest Tree on the Island

From my resort we headed north, with the rout of going around the entire island in a counter-clockwise direction. The first stop was about a ten minute ride. They call it "The Biggest Tree on the Island". With a title like that, I hope it's true! It certainly was a big tree!

Second Stop: Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach

Shorty after the big tree, we all hoped back in the truck and about 15 minutes later we found ourselves in the north east corner of the island where we stayed one hour at Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach. Everyone really loved this beach, it was gorgeous!

Third Stop: Than Sadet Waterfall

As we all piled back into the truck we noticed one of our new Japanese friends was missing. Turns out he fell asleep at the beach after having some happy smoke! But he was soon found and we were then on our way to the Than Sadet Waterfall. It was a great place to hang-out and climb your way up to the swimming hole, but it was no Angel's Falls!

Fourth Stop: Lunch at Absolute Island View Restaurant at Haad Yao Beach

The perimeter of the island is about 40 kilometers in total, but it's slow going up and down hills in the back of a pick-up. Here's a video to show you what it's like hanging on as we rode around the island. We continued west and about 20 minutes later we found ourselves having lunch at the Absolute Island View Restaurant at Haad Yao Beach on the west coast. I enjoyed a nice bowl of green curry, I asked for it spicy so they brought me a side of crushed red Thai chilies. That hit the spot! I then had some extra time to study the map before heading off to the next stop.

Fifth Stop: Snorkeling in Koh Ma

We all piled back into the truck, bellies full. I thought we weren't suppose to go swimming just after eating. Well, not in Thailand as we were all handed snorkels before we even left the restaurant parking lot, and before we knew it we were at Koh Ma Beach. An incredible double sided beach and land bridge extending out to tiny Koh Mah Island. Here we hung-out for an hour and went snorkeling. It was a blast!

This is a secondary beach cove you walk past on the way to the main beach area. What a beautiful island!

Sixth Stop: 360 Bar

This was a great surprise. We thought we were heading back to our hotels at this point; as that was the planned tour we signed up for, but suddenly we found ourselves holding on tightly in the back of the pick up as we climbed up a dirt road. In Thailand you can expect surprises and to my experience they are usually good ones!

Our guide parks, drops the hatch and the foreigners climb out. "where are we?" The Australian girl asks. Our guide replies, "We stop at 360 Bar, you like, come come" We were all blown away and pleasantly surprised. We had a great time, in a great atmosphere as the sun was just starting to set. The photos don't do this place justice. It was absolutely incredible.

Back to Coral Bungalows

We were a little disappointed when we had to leave the incredible views of the 360 bar about an hour before the sun was ready to sink into the Gulf of Thailand. We were in the north west of the island and about 45 minutes later after holding on tightly in the back of the pick up, I found myself back where I started. I was handed a beer by my friends Barry, Alon, and Leana who I've been hanging out with all week. I jumped in the pool and watched the sunset. In Thailand the fun only stops when you want it to!

What Have we Learned?

For starter's Thailand is awesome! Now you see why it's one of my favorite countries in the world. I had another incredible day in Thailand, it cost me probably less than what you spent on gasoline last time you filled the tank. The beautiful beach front resort I'm staying at is $7.30 a night, the tour cost $15.15, and food and water cost me $5.50. So for a grand total of $27.95 I had an incredibly day.

Now I started this blog calling myself "The World Travel Pro" and I consider myself an expert budget traveler. I have over ten years of travel experience; but the real lesson to be learned here is that life is what you make of it and you don't need to be a millionaire to live a good life.

The short time we have on this planet is precious, and I want each and everyone one of you to make the most out of the time you have. "He who dies with the most toys wins" is a great way to keep yourself stuck in debt and trapped in the rat race. I used to play that game, and it did not buy me happiness.

Now everything I own can fit in my backpack. But the most important thing I own is my time, and my freedom to do what I want, when I want to do it. I only wish that each one of you learn that it's not what you have that matters it's the time you have and the people you spend it with. Until next time...

Tranduction a Espanol

El otro dia yo hizo el Koh Pha Ngan "Road Trip" Tour; que es un todo dia tour de la isla. Nosotros visitimos algunos gran lugares, hecimos nuevo amigos, y tenimos un fantastico tiempo. El tour es un buen negotio de 500 Thia baht, proximo 15 dolares US y tu tienes una dia llena de actividades y diversion en el sol! Ya, vamos a ver los partes mas memorable.

Esperando por el Tour a Comencar

Aqui es donde mi dia se comience, en el recibidor de Coral Bongalows. Puedes crear que estoy pagando solo siete dolares un noche aqui! El cuarto se duerme tres comodamente; eso cueste menos que un media taza de Starbucks cafe cada persona!

La esparanza few corta hasta el camioneta llego con los otro touristicos; quien fue llevado de otro hoteles arredador la isla. Fui un hermosa pareja joven de Australia, dos mujeres de Argentina que yo desfrute hablando Espanol con ellas, y dos chicos de Japon que fue muy divertido para compianarme.

Premiro Parada: El Mas Grande Arbol de la Isla

Empezando de mi hotel nosotros seguimos norte, con el dirrecion ir arrededor la isla oposito de un relog. La primero parad fue proxiamente un diez minuto paseo. Ellos se llaman "El Mas Grande Arbol de la Isla". Con un titilo como eso, espero que es verdad! Por seguro fue un grande arbol!

Segundo Parada: Playa Thong Nai Pan Yai

Repremente despues el Grande Arbol, seguimos casi quince minutos por Playa Thong Nai pan Yai, en el norte este esquina de la isla. Gastamos una hora alla y todo de nosotros desfrutamos este playa muchisimo!

Tercero Parada: Cascada de Than Sadet

Cuando nosotros regrsimos a la camioneta, noticimos que uno de nosotros nuevo amigos de Japon fue perdido. El fue dormiendo en la playa despues fumando algo herba falice! Pronto el fue encontrado y nosotros fue seguindo por el Cascada Than Sadet. Lo fue un bueno lugar para pasar tiempo y escalar por la hueco de pescina natural, pero este cascada no fue una Cascada de Angeles!

Parada Cuatro: Almuerzo a Absolute Island View Restaurant a Haad Yao Beach

El perimeter de la isla esta proximo 40 kilometers en todo, pero es despacio subiendo y bajando lomos en el atras de la camioneta. Aqui es un video para mostrarte como asi. Nosotros seguimos oeste porxiomente viente minutos para tener almuerzo al Absolute Island View Restaurant at Haad Yao Beach en el costa oeste. Yo desfrute un plato undo de curi verde, yo pedi por este picante, entonces ellos me llavan un lado de Thai Chili en polvo. Fue bien! Luego tenia tiempo para estudiar el mapa antes seguindo por el proximo parada.

Parada Cinco: Esnorkelando en Koh Ma

Nosotros vulvimos a la camioneta, barrigas llena. Yo pensaba que no supuesto nadar despues comiendo. Pues, no en Thailandia, por nosotros fuimos dado esnorkels antes saliendo el restaurante parquedero! Pronto llegamos a la Playa de Koh Ma. Una increible dublado lado playa y un puente de terreno extendando por la isla pequeno de Koh Ma. Aqui nosotros gastamos una hora esnorkelando. Fue fantastico!

Parada Seis: 360 Bar

Este fue una supresa. Pensamos que nosotros fuimos regresando por nosotros hoteles en esto momento; por eso fue el plan del tour, pero repremente nos encontramos cogendo fuerte en la atras de la camionta, como nosotros escalamos arriba una calle de tierra. En Thailandia puedes anticipar supresas, y por mi experiencia son normalment buenos!

Nosotros guia parqua, baja el puerto y los extranjeros salieron. "Donde estamos?" La chica de Austrailia pregunto? El guia contesta "paradamos a 360 Bar, te gusta, venga, venga". Nosotros fuimos asombrado! Tenimos un tiempo fantastico, en un gran lugar con el sol empezando a caer. Los fotos no son justos. Este lugar fue increible!

Regresado a Coral Bungalows

Fuimos poco decepcionado cuando tenimos que salir los vistas increible de la 360 Bar con casi uno hora antes el sol fui listo caer adentro el mar de Thailandia. Estabamos en el norte oeste de la isla, y aproximadement 45 minutos luego despues cogendo al camioneta fuerte, me encontre mi mismo donde mi dia se comenco. Yo fui dado una cerveza de mi amigos Barry, Alon, y Leana que yo fue pasando tiempo con todo la semana. Yo salte en la pescina y mire el sol se cae. En Thialandia el diversion solo para cuande tu lo quires!

Que Hemos Aprendado?

Por principiadores Thailandia is impresionante! Ahora tu puedes ver porque es uno de mi pieses favorito del mundo. Tenia un otro fantastico dia en Thialandia, y problemente me cuesta menos que tu gastas en gasolina la ultima vez llenaste su deposito. La hermosa centro touristico a lado la playa, que me quedo es $7.30 un noche, el tour fue $15.15, y comida y agua me cuesta $5.50. Entonces, por un gran total de $27.95 yo tenia un dia increible.

Ahora yo empece este blog llamando mi mismo "The World Travel Pro" y yo pienso en mi mismo que soy un experta viajero de porsupuesta. Tengo mas que diez anos de experiencia viajando; pero el leson real para aprender es que vida es que tu lo haces y no necesitas ser un millionario para tener un vida bueno.

El pequeno tiempo tenemos en este planeta es muy preciosa, y yo quiro que cada uno de ustedes hacen el mas del tiempo que tienes. "Quien que mueres con las mas jugetas ganas" es un bien manera a quedar tu mismo en debito y trampada en el correo de ratas. Yo usado jugar este juego, y este nunca me compra falicidades.

Ahora todo que es mio pueden caber en mi mochila. Pero el mas importante cosa que yo tengo es mi tiempo, y mi libertad para hacer que yo quiro, cuando yo lo quiro. Mi deseo es que cada uno de ustedes aprender que lo no es que tu tienes que es importante, es el tiempo tu tienes y el gente con tu lo gastas. Hasta proximo vez...
