Real Life Captured #2: Morning Market in Luang Prabang Laos, Part One (15 photos)

in #travel7 years ago

The morning market in Luang Prabang Laos is one of the best old world markets I have ever seen. Walking through this market is literally like taking a step back in time. Refrigeration? ha! How about it's fresher when it's alive with it's feet bound so it won't run away! Do you like tree frog with your side of beetles? How about we slaughter a pigeon and have it with some bee larve!

Most of these photos were taken before 7am. Things kick off early in Luang Prabang, it's just a way of life in this highly cultural town. Here is part one of a three part series of incredible photos taken at the morning market in Luang Prabang Laos!

Those frogs! Wow. I see this one has some packaged fish at least. Classy. :)

I think those fish where like the only packaged items at the whole market!

I just posted the final part three with 20 amazing photos. This one has a bucket of tree frogs, a basket of crunchy beetles for sale, not to mention little birds in cages you buy and release for good luck! Saved the best for last. I wonder what your kids would think? Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a great day!

Nice! I just checked it out (and I've got you on my steemvoter now). I think you named it #2 though when you meant #3. Great photos as always!

Oh wow thank you so much for that (steemvoter), very thoughtful of you and it's greatly appreciated.

I just checked. You've got a great eye for detail, but that is what I intended Real life captured #2: part one, part two, part three (all photos from the same market in Luang Prabang Laos.)

But I see what you mean I could have just started going #3, #4, #5......funny it really is like #10 as I've been using the title "real life captured" for a couple months now but just started numbering now, and creating numbered series for several micro topics in my world of "Pro Travel!" lol I get a kick out of that. I still have a hard time taking myself seriously, but that's just my nature :)

I'm always open any blogging tips and advice you have for me. As you know I'm still new to computers in general!....let alone blogging :)

Thanks again. Have a great day!

I feel like I would have so much fun shopping there! Is haggling allowed?

Yes absolutely. But often the prices are set for most things and are so cheap, not sure you'd feel right even doing so.

front-runner , Thanks you

Gorgeous pics. Are those small eels?

My most disturbing world market experience was kittens in a market in either xian or Beijing. They were definitely being sold as food. I had a hard time not buying them and smuggling them home.

I guess those eels where small compared to others I've seen. Yes in Asia it seems as if everything is on the menu. I lived near a dog soup restaurant in Korea for several years, I condone eating dog, or cat, but at this point nothing bothers me unless it's harming and hurtful to fellow humans.

A very lively market for before 7am.

Enjoy your posts so much...truly a travel pro!

I missed this yesterday ! WOW !!! Like number 2 !! LOL! I will pass on the frogs and beetles thank you very much ! And whatever those snakes in water are LOL! 😂😂😂

Haha. Yes I'll pass too!

I do enjoy every post you do 👍

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much. Hearing that means a lot!

You're welcome 😊 you deserve it
