Travel Gem #14: Mykonos - Little Venice / 希臘魅力島 - 小威尼斯

Dear Steemit Friends,

We are leaving Santorini and coming to Mykonos.  Wow, Mykonos is very different from Santorini.

When we got off the ferry and made our way around the island, it was very refreshing.  The scenery is spectacular as it reminds us of  "Little Venice" with these colorful white washed beautiful decorated homes.

Oh, you can spend a whole week exploring this little town and not be bored at all.

Today, after we got off the ferry, we spent the whole day walking along the shore.

We talked to the fishermen to get to know the locals and what life is like in Mykonos.

This man here has lived all his life in Mykonos - it is a family business and he wants his son to take it up after him.  He is beating a fresh octopus that he got in his catch.  Tomorrow, he will let it hang on the clothes line under the sun to get them dried.  

They love doing what they do everyday.  They don't look like it with the sun beating down on them.  But inside their hearts, they tell me they are very happy.  They love fishing and they give away a lot of fish to their friends for free.

Hey, that's a good question to ask ourselves.

Ask ourselves: Do we love doing what we do everyday?

If we don't, it is time to re-evaluate our lives and start doing things that we love.  

The only way to love what we do is to SHARE what we have and GIVE them away freely like this man.

Along the Mykonos shore, you can meet a lot of fishermen. Take some time to talk to them.  Understand the locals and you learn a lot about their life.

We spent the evening strolling along the shore of Mykonos, enjoying the scenery of little Venice at dusk.
