Exploring Australia - Walking the Loo-errn Track at Wilsons Prom

One of my favourite walks when visiting Australia was a coastline path that winds along the Tidal River towards Squeaky Beach. It’s not a long walk and is easy for most, but it’s a great experience and this area has an aesthetic of its own that’s hard to describe. The nearest thing I can pinpoint is that it’s similar to the Jurassic Park film. It has many monolithic looking rocks and rainforest type trees that give it a unique atmosphere and vibe whilst walking through.

I was looking back at my photos from the walk and wanted to share a few shots that starts with walking on the boardwalks and through the swamp paperbark forest and on to the wetlands. Here you take a bridge and follow the path up to some great views, you can then come back down or follow on to Squeaky Beach and stroll along the white quartz sand that squeaks as you walk.

The Wilsons Prom area, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful that I’ve visited in Australia. There’s so much to see and the nature is really green and vibrant. As I’m drawn to sculpture and concrete structures the rocks were of particular fascination for me. Although natural they are unique in shape and seem almost too good to be true. It’s also really nice at the top of this walk since you walk under a tunnel of branches that enclose the walkway. Really cool! I hope you like these photos and will give this walk a go if you’re ever at Wilsons Prom.

P.S. You can also see some incredible wildlife! I saw many animals, but the wombat and the brown snake were highlights. I kept my distance! haha

I love every part of it, the wooden bridge too but the snake scares me. Daring photos.

Ha yeah! Everyone is scared of the snakes. I don't mind them if I keep my distance! haha Thanks for commenting

Snakes are scary! OOoh! Glad you are safe.

There's a portion of the water that is quite mushy or brownish in color. I wonder what that is.

I love all the photos that you shared and that was no doubt pretty enjoyable. ^^

Hey! Thanks for commenting. Yeah, I was told this is from the iron content found in the earth. This is also why some of the rocks have a orange/yellow colour. Interesting.

It is quite interesting. Thanks for letting me know. :)

Ok when I saw the snake I kinda freaked a bit haha.

I have been in Australia but mostly in the city of Melbourne and never got the experience to walk the trails.

Thanks for commenting! Yeah, it was scary but I was on the boardwalk so I just kept my distance haha
