Road Trip Europe 2017 - Part 7 - Budapest - our last stop

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Our summer trip was about to end soon, but there was one more place to explore - the capital of Hungary - Budapest!
We arrived in Budapest a bit late in the evening, because we had to travel almost 450 kilometers from Maribor. Our way led by the lake of Balaton, so we stopped for about an hour or to, just to take a break and have some meal. We also got the chance to take some photos on the lake's coast.

And there's Balaton!

We ate in a restaurant, and of course had Goulash - the most traditional Hungarian dish, and I also had a Raspberry soup. It actually tasted very strange... like a fruit yogurt.

Soon after the lake of Balaton we gradually reached Budapest and found a parking place in a private building for my car. It cost me 10 euro for the weekend, which was very cheap! We barely had any energy left, so the only thing that we managed to do was having a beer in a bar near the Danube. There were some great craft beers and a great view. I definitely recommend this place! It's called Jónás Craft Beer House and there are a looot of people, enjoying our favorite drink.

Actually, the whole city was a bit dirty, and we were a bit disappointed by this fact, but there were a lot nice places to stay and to enjoy going at. Actually we liked Slovenia a lot more for the fact that it was very neat and clean everywhere.

The first night passed away, and in the morning we decided to go for a day walk in the center of the city by the Danube river.
I maybe liked the whole atmosphere by the river during the night. It was just beautiful. On the other hand, on our daywalk we went to some more places, and particularly on the other side of the river - The Buda town!

That's the overall view of the Budapest city. Not much to be seen, but still very nice places. This was our final destination before going by, but I have one bonus post about something, I will keep secret for now. I can only say, that beer has to be involved in it!

Thank you for reading, and your upvotes, please check also the other post about mu summer trip and leave some comments below. See you again! Soon I'm going to visit Japan, so a lot of interesting stuff ahead!
