# PORTO, Portugal

In the old town of Porto at dusk light blends subtly with the centuries-old houses that accompany the hills leading down to the banks of the Douro River. Margins that accompanied the history of both the city as Portugal, it was the port that ships were supplied meat to soon venture in the Discovery of Brazil, Angola, Guinea, Cavo Verde and Goa in India, leaving the city's population the viscera of the animals.

The most exotic places in the world #5 - Porto, Portugall

@norwegianviking

The second biggest city in Portugal and on the north coast of the country you will find Porto. This is an amazing city, not too big (800.000) and it has everything you can ask for. Good food, friendly people, nice vine (portvine), interesting arcitechture (both modern and historical), river and even beaches.

If you travel to this country you will soon find out that the Portugese people are very friendly, and they speak better English than their neighbours in east.Leer mais

Porto, Portugal

@leodomingos

The historic city centre is amazing with its colorful houses, narrow streets full of charm and blue and white tiles/azulejos everywhere.
For those you likes Harry Potter, there is also sonething interesting to see. In Porto there is an old bookshop called Lello Bookshop with spectacle interior architecture which actually inspired the Harry Potter’s library in Hogwarts. In fact, J.K Rowling lived in Porto teaching English in the early 1990s.Leer mais

Serralves Museum

@adrianmada321s

The architectural plans for the Serralves Museum were first drawn up in 1991 by the architect Álvaro Siza. The new building was finally inaugurated in 1999, harmoniously integrated within the surrounding urban area and the pre-existing spaces of the gardens of the Park and Villa.

Visitors to the Serralves Museum also discover the particularities of the diferent spaces within this architectural work, that has a strong organizational structure and great flexibility and transformational capacity, enabling it to respond to the diversity and unpredictability of the contemporary art works to be displayed.Leer mais

Color Challenge Orange -- Porto in Perspective

@aschristyseesit

Sometimes a change in perspective is all we need to see things completely differently.

What would happen if we began to see all of our challenges, all of our fears, as something to be grateful for? Can we break down what we're used to, can we break down how fear makes us feel, and instead accept it as one of life's greatest gifts? What if those of us who fear have the greatest accessibility to unlock ourselves?Leer mais

Porto! Your food is amazing! Visiting an amazing city in Portugal

@exyle/

It was my first time flying with Ryanair and I vow I will next time pay for better seats! My goodness, there is even less space than Easyjet. And Easyjet is tough enough as it is for somebody my length (2mtr). It does explain why Ryanair is so cheap. We only paid 80 euro for a return flight for two. So, can't complain much!

Luckily the flight from Eindhoven to Porto was only 2,5 hours. So, gangrene had not set in yet. After landing it only took 20 minutes for the blood to return to my legs and I could get out of the plane. Leer mais

Douro – The wine capital of the world

@indiedg

In this beautiful Portuguese region, the wine production can be dated back to the 12th century. But not only until the 17th century that the Douro valley became the source of what have we known as today as Port. It was the Treaty of Windsor, signed by England and Portugal in 1386, which sowed the seeds for the emergence of this great classic wine and the transformation of the Douro Valley into one of the most renowned of the worlds wine regions.

Since early that the Douro valley has been sculptured to produce the greatest and most exquisite wines in the world. This long history with wine has shaped the landscape that we see today. Leer mais
