The most exotic places in the world #5 - Porto, Portugal
After visiting more than 50 countries, and 500 cities in the world I will give you my top 10 list of the most exotic destinations you can visit when you live on the road.
The second biggest city in Portugal and on the north coast of the country you will find Porto. This is an amazing city, not too big (800.000) and it has everything you can ask for. Good food, friendly people, nice vine (portvine), interesting arcitechture (both modern and historical), river and even beaches.
If you travel to this country you will soon find out that the Portugese people are very friendly, and they speak better English than their neighbours in east. I have visited Porto 3 times and I practically fell in love with this city. When you are here you can combine it with beachlife and in the evenings it is a lively city for those who enjoy dancing. The food is delicious, and you have to try out the best Sandwich in the world called Francesinha ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francesinha ). You will understand from the arcitechture that this is an old city, and it is hard to see a straight line when you see it from distance.
They have an amazing bookstore which has been an inspiration in the Harry Potter movies. You will also find something familiar with the bridge in the city, and it is the same guy who was behind the Eifell tower. The Port itself is a nice place to sit for a meal and some drinks, and on the oposite side of river you have loads of Portvine producers. This is an amazing city, and it is easy to get here since they have an international airport. If there are something you wonder about, feel free to ask and I will do my best to make your journey as easy and comfortable as possible.
Safe travels!
