Travel - Germany - Ulm Part #2: Old Fishermen's Quarter
This is my second post on Ulm and today we look at one of the oldest parts of the city, call the old fishermen's quarter (or Fischerviertel in German). The contrast between the new parts of the city (for example the Ulm Public Library) and the old part is striking.
I enjoyed the typical German half-timbered houses, where traditionally heavy timbers create a frame for the construction of the houses. The old part also has beautiful cobble stone pathways and picturesque small bridges over water from the River Blau. I also saw the famous Crooked House (aka Schiefes Haus in German) and other medieval buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th century.
Let me know what you think?

And then the best thing to do in Germany after a day of exploration... cheers!

This is definitely how I picture Germany, beer and cool old houses. I'm actually learning German now and thinking about moving there :)
Wow, you going with a full commitment. It was definitely epic to visit in summer, but I'm not sure if I would like to stay there permanently. I just love South African people, nature and weather to much. ;)
