"Community". This word has become the new cornerstone of the business discourse of Facebook and on which its strategy is based to leave behind the controversies in which the company has been involved since the victory of the North American president Donald Trump. As acknowledged at the Facebook Community Summit in London, the vice president of the company's technological giant, Chris Cox, "2017 was a difficult year in which we had to think about our role in democracy, in journalism and in the community".
But what does Facebook mean as a community? As explained by Cox himself, it is "a group of people who have a sense of belonging, who are connected, who feel safe and invest time in it." And what is a community within a social network? Well, essentially, Facebook groups that add value to people.

Some groups that come to be the virtual representation of the meetings of support, for example, of alcoholics anonymous, of veterans of war or, simply, a space in Internet in which to share advice on recipes, food or in which a set of people coordinate to perform charitable actions.

Currently, Facebook has more than 200 million users who belong to the "quality" groups that they are now trying to promote. For this, they explain, the content review team will be duplicated in order to carry out a better moderation, the technical team has been strengthened, tools of moderation and money have been incorporated.

Facebook Community Leadership Program

Facebook has announced its Community Leadership Program, a global initiative with which it will invest in people who build communities. Up to 10 million dollars in grants that will be directed to the people who create and lead digital communities emerged in this social network.
On the one hand, there are residency opportunities and scholarships that offer training, support or funding for leaders and administrators of communities around the world. Five of these administrators will be selected to be community leaders in residence and will be endowed with up to one million dollars to fund their proposals. On the other hand, up to 100 people will be selected who will opt for a scholarship program endowed with up to $ 50,000 per scholarship.
Likewise, Facebook will establish Leadership Circles of these communities to meet in person the administrators and leaders of the local communities so that they can exchange experiences.

Tools for Group Administrators

Administrators will now be able to find member requests, group information and more details in one place, thus facilitating the administration of groups and giving more time for administrators to connect with their members.
Also, the social network will allow ads to be included at the beginning of each group, which will be anchored at the top of them. In addition, Facebook incorporates a fixed section in which the rules of each group will be indicated, as well as the possibility of customizing them by colors.

Interesting way to build a "community." I think this is really a joke a way for people who are already well known bloggers to earn more money. But yet leave the less known person who is ambitious in blogging and truly building a community in the dust. This is why i prefer Steemit. This community everyone starts from the bottom up and each person has the ability to get improve their own position. In which I think the more time and quality of your work the more success you'll have on Steemit.

Well only time will tell and I know that all other social networks are going to try and mimic Steemit.

Haha, Facebook lost its way into the dark waters of "being forgotten". Noone cares about Facebook anymore, there is lots of another social media tools around like Steemit. If they will try to keep people inside via opportunity of being famous and making money, so be it. Someone makes some cash but the others still keep hanging in other sites :)

Facebook is pathetic :)

Lol looks like you had bad experience with facebook. @cihaddogan
