Venture with Me: First Ever Official Food Tasting Experience

in #teammalaysia6 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone!

Weekend has passed and off again with a new week and Chinese New Year is already around the corner!

My weekend was busiest weekend I have ever had in 2018, if you have noticed from my previous post, there were some hints that has something to do with @myach and @elizacheng .

As a friend and a member of #teammalaysia , I have travelled "far and wide" to support my fellow steem-ian Malaysian family just in 1 day; not to mention sending pineapple tart cookies to my important first-time customers (for fund raising cause) for @djlethalskillz, @ladylei , @karinzdailygrind (and my other friends).

my dears, please remember to post a review then I can at least let my mom know about it haha

I have not travelled within the Klang Valley this much for many many years, and Saturday was really a mix of tiredness and excitement.

Since @elizacheng , @aaronleang , @kokuryo , @ranjitavelan , @kimgoh , @wendygoh and @davidke20 (and many others to come) have done a fantastic job promoting #myjuniors launch event respectively, I have decided not to repeat the same as they took more pictures than me.

(however do read on, I will provide at least one we-fie at the end whom I have taken picture together)

You can head over to my main feed where I have resteemed some of them or you can view their posts here.

and I know there's many more to come!

So, back to the main item for this post - My Food Tasting Experience!

Let me post this first so that the thumbnail will capture it as this is the main star of my post.

For the decade that I have stayed in the capital city, I never really fond of driving within the inner city of Kuala Lumpur due to too much jam. Most of the time I would just either hitch a ride or take public transport, and decided to remain in the Selangor region and explore when necessary .

I have enough things to handle from work to personal life, which spares me nothing left for socialising beyond the Petaling Jaya region... although, I DO occasionally travel as far as velocity at least once just to "look see, look see"; but that is not my regular gig

But for my Steem-ian family member @danielwong who has kindly DM me early, I will make time for his great effort to be our very first DSES F&B branch that accepts STEEM as payment for his super delicious burgers and pastas.

So off I went, after crashed and KO for 30 minutes on the sofa right after the #myjunior + durian fellowship event and cookies delivery duty, I head off to the other side of the KL world, armed only with my GPS, driving license and touch and go card; only to realise after 15 minutes drive, rain started pouring so heavily I ended up driving like a tortoise.

Don't worry, the picture above was taken when my car was stationed at the traffic light. See the red?

After being stuck for almost an hour in the rain and jam, I finally saw the PV128 sign, which in such a relief to know that I have arrived to the right place!

Only to experience the horror of not able to find a parking space until 3 rounds around the building later.

But, it was still worth it.

Trying out the Blue Cheese Chicken with a tad of spiciness was a great experience. I love cheese and I have never tried blue cheese as a sauce before, as it is similar to durian (the king of fruits in Malaysia), you either love it, or hate it (as my European buddies once told me - because they dislike it).

I vaguely remembered my friend cooked pasta with it before but I could hardly taste the blue cheese; while this monster, I can actually smell the blue cheese!

Chill. It isn't as horrible as my European buddies described. I kind of get used to it. Maybe because I have no problem with durian.

I always liked my stuffs with sauce and though the burger with its onion ring and tiny bit of (rather) spicy sauce was a little dry for me, I still quite like it.

And since Daniel has decided to substitute fries with sausages, that made my day!

You definitely have my thumbs up for that.

@joannewong was gracious to share some pasta with me and that was a really good change than the usual western style. It reminded me during my uni days in Australia when I made lamb friend pasta with Thai chili sauce and egg which became my staple food during the Winter season at down under.

That pasta brought some good old memories back.

So overall? The adventure was not in vain. Probably need to run a few more miles and less carb food during CNY just to burn some of those excess off my belly.

Not to mention I get to see the rest of the #teammalaysia family too.

Otherwise. No regrets on that!

Well done @danielwong ! You have solidified a Big Hug Burger fan here.

And I know @chloephuan93 already is one ever since she sunk her teeth into your best seller Mario Burger .

Last but not least, as promised, from #myjunior event, I get to chit chat with @ranjitavelan , @coloringiship and @positivesteem and it was good to see the great support, especially for @positivesteem who came all the way from East Malaysia.

So here it is, my super busy weekend has passed, and I hope you have enjoyed reading as much as I have enjoyed preparing it.

Thank You for Your Time

ah ha ha ha ha ha ha.....
got to write down when the memory is still fresh.

Big hug burger FTW

Quick , in Antwerp , though it is a fast food chain, does some mean quarter pounder.
Haven't have any joint compared to that yet. They have a badass cook there.

😱😱😱😱😱 I would try if it isn’t blue cheese hahaha. Not really a big fan :)

no one puts blue cheese on a quarter pounder..... 😂

i know. But what i meant is if I were to eat big hug burger , my burger shall not go near any blue cheese. Hahaha.

Then you better stick to the beef patty range, haha.

Thanks for using the MakeMeSmile tag... If you would like to join the lucky draw, do comment your post link at this post

I was about to ask you am not sure if my post is eligible for that haha. Sure will post my link over

Why not eligible leh? It makes you SMILE... It makes me SMILE... And I am sure it makes many others SMILE too... :D

haha. Thanks for the confirmation!

that burger made me so hungry!!looks good!

It is even more awesome because it is paid with STEEM @cryptoaltcoin :D

that really is amazing. more main stream adoption, Yes!

That's what we strive towards. And the more adoption there is, the easier this becomes for those who will appreciate the cryptocurrency as an alternative lifestyle besides fiat bound.

Pay burger with steem is a great start :) The burger looks really yummy. @danielwong I do hope you'd let me pay with steem when I get lost in Malaysia. ^^ I love seeing the Steemit family together. ^^

As long as you are in Federal Capital City Kuala Lumpur, it is possible haha....

hahahha which I doubt I could go anytime soon but the traffic from what I see is super!.

by the time you are here, there might be even more variety for you to choose!

Yes, I'm excited too. :)

You had me at food and that it accepts Steem!!

Yep. Awesome isn't it??
