Chapter Seventeen

The next morning Grayson slipped into his dad’s study, dropping into his usual chair and stretching his legs out in front of him. He drummed a beat on his cargo shorts as he waited for his father to acknowledge him.

He could feel a smile tugging the corner of his lips, he couldn’t help it, he felt fantastic. Physically and mentally better than he had in years. He closed his eyes and pictured his pretty little consort and felt a pleasant tingle move through his body. A warmth, without its usual accompanying pain, settled in his groin and he almost sighed in bliss.

On his way home the night before he’d been surrounded by a cloud of euphoria and at first he’d reveled in it, but by the time he’d climbed in bed a shadow of dread had replaced it. Because that euphoric state had skated dangerously close to feeling something for the girl. He’d wrestled with it until he’d concluded that it was nothing more than a physiological reaction caused by complete satiation. The act of emptying himself into her body was responsible, and if he were in danger of feeling anything it was only lust for more of the same. It wasn’t the Being of Aryanne Gilson who had brought on the feeling, it was what her body could do for him. Once he’d settled that score he’d been able to give in to the almost drunken mental state and had awoke this morning still in it. Damn, it felt good, and he had to wonder whether this was the way people usually felt.

“’Morning son, you’re looking mighty pleased with yourself,” his dad broke into his thoughts.

He grinned, “I guess I am.”

James smiled back. “So you have a game plan then?”

Grayson’s smile faded a fraction, “Uh, not completely formed, still working on it.”

His father stared at him, his gaze frosting over and Grayson winced as he forced himself to hold his father’s stare though his stomach had clenched into a tight ball.

James regarded him coolly for a few more moments before allowing his features to soften. “All right.” He leaned forward slightly. “I understand how you could lose focus for a moment, you’re even entitled to. For a moment,” he repeated. “But going by your loose-limbed walk into my office I would say the moment has passed and you’re able to shift your focus, am I right?”

Grayson nodded.

James glanced at his phone on the desk next to him which had been vibrating constantly for the past few minutes. He looked back at Grayson and nodded shortly. “I’ll look forward to your updates.” He pressed the button on his cell and raised a hand to his son indicating they were done.

Grayson unfolded from the chair and left the study feeling like an idiot. How the hell could he have walked into his father’s office without thinking ahead? He knew better than to ever approach the man without forethought. He got to his room and took a deep breath. Okay moving on. He wouldn’t make the mistake again, no point dwelling on it.

So what did he know about Aryanne? Well, she was innocent. She had stayed close with her friends from elementary school which told him she was loyal. That thought brought Andie to mind and he wondered if Aryanne knew about their little fling. She’d been ‘in love’ with him for years but her best friend had made out with him? Hmm. He’d file that one away for now. What else? She was more intelligent than he'd previously realized. Other than that, he was going to need to observe more carefully and ask more questions before deciding on a plan of action.

He glanced at his alarm clock. Almost time to pick her up. His cock gave a little thump and he glanced down with a smirk. I hear you boy, he thought, his smirk transforming into a smile as he headed out of his room.

Sort:

Omg i just got anxious! There was some sort of tension in the air or was it just me who felt like that?
That vibe between Arynne and Grayson is.. It gave me anxiety lol

Awesome comment! I love it when people tell me how things affect them :)

What can i say.. I just pictured the whole scene!

Grayson's too cool for school demeanor is most likely going to be a cause for conflict. This only reinforces my stand regarding his almost reptilian nature. I guess he and his father are close to sociopathic serial killers than what he initially let on. The struggle would be in Ary's quest to thaw his cold, calculating heart.

And...yes. To all of that haha!!

Oh my new favorite story.....I am hoping Grayson could get serious with Aryanne.
@dreemit ,you are tripping me (lol)

Love that I am tripping you, haha!

Hahaha.... you are just an amazing lady. Kudos to you, mi lady!!

A great story @dreemit.
