Do you have a daughter?
After two sons and four grandsons, God finally gave me the little girl I waited for all my life. On the day my granddaughter was born, her smile lit up my world. Even in her teens, her every hurt causes me pain.
Every father and grandfather knows whereof I speak. This weeks 50 word story in response to @jayna's weekly prompt, "pumpkin," is about that special relationship.

"You're OK, Sweetheart."
Roger scooped up his four year old just as her tears began flowing.
"She bit me!" Bella sobbed. He could feel her little body shudder, and almost began crying himself.
"Pumpkin, puppies are protective of their bones. Astrid didn't understand you wanted it for a Halloween decoration."

A few years back I had a call from my Daughter , Help Me Daddeeee! Phone went dead , and I could not get through to her. Not a feeling I would wish on anyone?

Hahaha. Charming story. Lesson learned the hard way. Coincidentally, one of our dogs bit my 14-year old daughter yesterday (and she wasn't even messing up with his food). Sometimes they just snap.
Hard job for a parent. To console and calm down both parties.

I was lucky enough to start with a daughter. She is made of sugar and spice and everything nice, but her brother Ben?!?! Not so much lol.

Oh my gosh, I'm so far behind, @creatr! This story is so charming. I do have daughters, and although I'm pretty much old enough to be a grandmother I do not have grandchildren yet, but I am very much looking forward to it. All except for reliving that part of parenting where you have to deal with boo boos. They hurt in multiple ways!

Love it! I would have had grandkids by now if I could. But my kids are still moving through the late teen years so alas, I must be patient!
