Steemvoter Guild: "Refer-a-Friend" Experiment!

in #steemvoter7 years ago (edited)

This post is a substitute for yesterday's daily post that we were unable to post. Instead of doing another Author Spotlight alongside today's post we thought we would try something different!

Enter: The "Refer-a-Friend" Steemvoter (SV) Guild program.

So how does it work? Simple ... reply to this post with the link to another Steemian's post you think deserves the daily Steemvoter guild upvote, you are welcome to motivate in the reply why you think they deserve it.

The reply with the highest upvote $ value will be the winner and the post nominated in that reply will receive the guild upvote, which as you may have seen from previous posts, is a generous upvote from around 500 guild members, giving $30 dollars or more to the author depending on starting value.

We are still working out the exact details of how this will work but the basic guidelines as follows.

Basic Guidelines

  • You cannot submit your own post or that of your other related accounts that you own or share ownership in, if you are found or reported to do this and substantially verified, your and your related accounts will be blacklisted from future guild vote eligability.

  • No religious, NSFW, racist, trolling, fake news or inappropriate posts will be considered, in which case runner's up will be selected. @steemvoter has the final word as to which post is selected for the daily vote.

  • No posts to be submitted that already have more than $30 in value at the time of your submission.

  • We will not vote the same author in a seven-day window.

  • Cut-off time: We haven't yet decided on a routine for this, but we will evaluate how long it takes to get engagement and a variety of links to be submitted on this post. Most likey we will select an author no sooner than 8 hours from this post.

  • At the time of selection, we will only vote on posts that have at least 2 hours left until first payout, please submit freshest posts possible. [We aren't so sure of this condition, we may upvote the post that our community deems worthy even if it has paid out]

  • This is not about curation rewards for the guild members and getting in early on the vote etc, it is purely to reward the deserving author.

  • @steemvoter will consider this a free market experiment and we will facilitate the voting of the post that the community wants voted, without checking for PLG of content, photos and artwork. At our discretion, blatantly inappropriate posts will not be voted on however.

Let's make Steem great ... together!!

I think this post, by a new favorite artist of mine, really deserves the vote. His style is so expansive, and I always feel honored that I get to see his personal pieces of artwork.
Like having a VIP connection with a famous artist ;)
This post displays his street art, and as usual, there are quirky and fun details in every piece.
We need more positive and intriguing art in our lives!

Sweet, best of luck with your submission!

This nominated post was the winner for the Guild Vote!

I nominate this article: The Origin and Story of Sherlock Holmes, by my son @cmp2020. Although he's my son, I think I would feel the same way no matter who wrote this article. My reasons for nominating it are:

  1. Because Sherlock Holmes is such a popular character, the topic is of interest to many people.
  2. It is a well-written article (especially for a high school freshman).
  3. It is a well-sourced article, depending primarily on an article from Life Magazine for its facts.
  4. I saw first-hand the large amount of time and effort that he put into researching and writing the article and composing the html for image formatting.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I really like this idea, now I have to go and find a deserving post.

Cool, go for it! You still have time, we won't be choosing any earlier than 8 hours time.

Cool, feel free to suggest a post for us to upvote!

Yes, congratulation.
Perfect information

It is a good idea, good luck with your experiment

Awesome, thanks for the vote of confidence, what is cool is that anyone who submits a good post will get paid directly by the upvotes they receive on their comment from the rest of the community who agree with their choice. This also provides our guild members with a transparent way to direct the guild vote instead of us just picking an author.

I think this author deserves more credit : https://steemit.com/@cryptonetwork/
He dedicates very much time to making his posts

I'd like to see a program where if a steamer is rewarded for referring new members to steemit- perhaps the referrer receives a small percentage of the overall seem earned by the new member for the first three months? Incentives the growth of steemit. Here's a undervalued post I'd like to nominate https://steemit.com/pizzagate/@titusfrost/pizzagate-pedogate-the-unanswered-questions-documentary-part-1

We would like to see that too, awesome idea. @steemvoter is not affiliated to Steemit.com however and we don't have any influence over the implimentation of such a feature on Steemit.

If the whales were smart they'd finance the referral commissions and would reap the rewards of far more rapid growth.

Another good idea, community sponsored referrals!

I just posted the idea up- please help make it more visible to the powers that be by considering uprooting and resteeming it - thanks https://steemit.com/steemit/@thelightreports/steemit-nees-to-sart-a-referral-program-and-it-would-behoove-the-whales-and-the-overall-community-to-fund-it

Great idea and it came right on time! I've been very impressed with some of the photo's @olesya has posted and I saw that many went mostly unnoticed and unrewarded. That's why I'd like to share this post:

https://steemit.com/photography/@olesya/gloomy-autumn

I'm not sure if photography is something you're looking for, but hey, it's worth a shot and it's a bit more publicity for @olesya either way!

Well this is a free market experiment, so we will vote whatever the community decides should get the guild vote based on the value of the comment on this post, as long as it not dodgy :), in which case we will intervene and choose a runner up, at this stage we won't be policing for PLG on images and art and will let the community decide what should get upvoted.

Great! Well it's a nice idea and I hope you'll get many recommendations. I'm sure we all stumble upon a Steemian who deserves more exposure from time to time :-)

There a lots of deserving people, shouldn't be too hard.

We are waiting for more engagement on this post, will wait until a few hours before it closes out before we select an author to vote, if the author's post has expired we will still vote it.
