El verdor del valle encandilaba, las paredes de cañón estaban decoradas con manchones de plantas cargadas de flores silvestres de multitud de colores, parecían repisas, cubiertas con pasto y flores sobre una pared casi vertical, en medio de aquellos escarpados muros naturales, en el hermoso campo que entre ellos se encontraba, el Instituto de Investigación Agrícola Valle de Aurora estaba siendo desalojado.

Después de casi cien años de labores continuas las instalaciones, nombradas en homenaje a Aurora Roberti, la historiadora, arqueóloga y antropóloga, a la que, en gran parte se debía el descubrimiento de la existencia de Ether y los efectos nocivos que éste tenía sobre la humanidad; debían ser desmanteladas y todos sus equipos enviados a la base Samuel Hilberth y puestos en espera para ser enviados a las colonias.

En las profundidades de la tierra, bajo el edificio principal, una apresurada, pero cuidadosa construcción, se estaba llevando a cabo; una gigantesca bóveda con paredes de acero de cincuenta centímetros de espesor y con el tamaño de un apartamento pequeño, en ella, se preservarían los archivos originales de Aurora Roberti, todas sus notas y los diarios de su investigación, así como las filmaciones de las expediciones, al continente devastado por la gran catástrofe y a las destruidas instalaciones de Hilbert Technologies, los creadores de Ether.

Diez capsulas cilíndricas de dos metros de longitud y cincuenta centímetros de diámetro, selladas y llenas de gas argón preservarían los archivos, la bóveda sería el lugar donde reposarían estas cápsulas, a la espera del regreso de los humanos a la tierra. Fue una decisión del consejo de colonización, dejar en el planeta todos aquellos documentos y registros electrónicos que sirvieran de testimonio de la vida de los humanos y de las vicisitudes que vivieron y los llevaron abandonarlo; con el fin de que en el futuro pudieran ser recuperados por sus descendientes.

La decisión de dejar sepultados en estas bóvedas herméticas todo documento y archivo de valor histórico, se debió al riesgo de que, a causa de lo imprevisible de los viajes y la vida en el espacio, pudieran perderse en algún accidente, así que lo mejor sería dejarlos en la tierra y registrar información de su existencia en las bases de datos de las naves colonizadoras, con el fin de que pudiesen ser recuperados cuando fuera necesario o cuando los colonos decidieran que deseaban conocer sus orígenes.

A las veintiún horas del tercer día del sexto mes de 1534, los operadores de los robots soldadores, detuvieron todas la operaciones de las máquinas, al concluir el completo sellado de la bóveda, luego de eso, el aire del recinto fue reemplazado por argón, para evitar la oxidación interna y degradación de los cilindros, para finalmente ser vaciadas varias toneladas de concreto, que sepultarían por completo la bóveda con la intensión de preservarla por el mayor tiempo posible, como ésta, otras bóvedas serían sepultadas en las profundidades de varias edificaciones y centros de investigación importantes a lo largo del continente, a la espera del regreso de los humanos a la Tierra.

The greenery of the valley dazzled, the canyon walls were decorated with patches of plants loaded with wild flowers of multitude of colors, they seemed shelves, covered with grass and flowers on an almost vertical wall, in the middle of those steep natural walls, in the beautiful field that among them was, the Agricultural Research Institute Valle de Aurora was being evicted.

After almost one hundred years of continuous work the facilities, named in homage to Aurora Roberti, the historian, archaeologist and anthropologist, to whom, in great part, was owed the discovery of the existence of Ether and the harmful effects that this had on humanity; they had to be dismantled and all their equipment sent to the Samuel Hilberth base and put on hold to be sent to the colonies.

In the depths of the earth, under the main building, a hasty but careful construction was being carried out; a gigantic vault with steel walls fifty centimeters thick and the size of a small apartment, in it, the original archives of Aurora Roberti, all her notes and the diaries of her research, as well as the filming of the expeditions, to the continent devastated by the great catastrophe and to the destroyed facilities of Hilbert Technologies, the creators of Ether, would be preserved.

Ten cylindrical capsules two meters long and fifty centimeters in diameter, sealed and filled with argon gas would preserve the archives, the vault would be the place where these capsules would rest, waiting for the return of humans to the earth. It was a decision of the colonization council, to leave on the planet all those documents and electronic records that would serve as testimony of the life of the humans and of the vicissitudes that lived and took them to leave it; in order that in the future they could be recovered by their descendants.

The decision to bury in these hermetic vaults all documents and archives of historical value was due to the risk that, because of the unpredictability of travel and life in space, they could be lost in some accident, so the best thing would be to leave them on earth and record information of their existence in the databases of the colonizing ships, so that they could be recovered when necessary or when the colonists decided that they wanted to know their origins.

At twenty-one hours of the third day of the sixth month of 1534, the operators of the welding robots stopped all the operations of the machines, when they concluded the complete sealing of the vault, after that, the air of the enclosure was replaced by argon, to avoid the internal oxidation and degradation of the cylinders, and finally several tons of concrete were emptied, which would completely bury the vault with the intention of preserving it for as long as possible, like this one, other vaults would be buried in the depths of several important buildings and research centers throughout the continent, awaiting the return of humans to Earth.
