Cycling California, mountain bike Almaden Quicksilver Park
Hello all, I'm sharing my mountain bike ride a few days ago at Almaden Quicksilver park. I probably posted a crypto analysis instead of my ride that day... Below is a shot from the top of my climb, the bike is a Norco Team Carbon hard tail, 23.5 lbs.
The ride was 14.9 miles and 2,327 feet of climbing, sweating was in the menu... But isn't it always when mtb'ing?
GPS data is from a Garmin Vivoactive HR, Wahoo fitness HRM.
A few from the trail looking south towards Morgan Hill, CA. It was a nice crisp and cool December day.
There is a little trail off of the main path that takes you to this picnic bench and overlook of South San Jose.
On the climb up, I passed the posting of some history at this park. A school was built in 1864 named English Camp where the children of the mercury miners (quicksilver) went.
This is a photo of the school back in the mid 1800's. I can tell you for sure that everyday life was not easy... Although Norther California does not get too cold over the winter, it does get cool in the winter mornings at ~30* f. Must have been quite cold in a drafty school room!
There is a warning sign for cyclists just before the downhill.....
