Bible stories for Kids 6 - The tower of Babel

You remember the previous story about Noah and how he build the Ark and he and his family were saved. After the Flood, God blessed Noah and his sons and they had many children and their families became bigger and bigger.

Many of them obeyed God and lived in different parts of the earth just as God told them to do.

But some of them were disobedient to God again. They said, "Let's build a city and stay here. We can then build a tower that is so high that its point touches the sky.

God did not like what they did, and therefore he decided to stop the construction. Do you know how he did it? He suddenly made them speak different languages.

The workers started babbling and because they could not understand each other, they could not build any further. The city they built became known as Babel, which means"Confusion." This is how it came that there are thousands of different languages spoken since then.

The people started to move away and go live in different places on the earth.
