Time out from the family - that's the way it can be

Having a family is wonderful - but also really exhausting. So that there is always enough power to take his place in the family, parents need time-out, and that is absolutely necessary. Otherwise it can eventually come to the Burn Out, because it is not only in professional life.

Mothers need them, but fathers as well - the time off, the free space or whatever you call time without a child. As important as it is to treat time-outs as a couple in order to keep the love relationship going, it is equally important to go your own way in between, without the family. The smaller the children are, the more difficult it is to enjoy these breaks. At the same time, it is especially helpful to work as a full family member.

FREETIMES ARE QUALITY TIMES!

Timeouts do not necessarily have to be long if they are regularly possible. Then the jogging in the morning or the workout in the gym is enough for regeneration. Even an evening with friends who have little to do with the family can be extremely refreshing. It's not just about spending self-determined time without a child, but also focusing differently and not thinking about the family, their needs and any concerns for a while. In addition to the distraction that takes place, a break can also be a very specific "I-time". A long walk in the woods, tinkering undisturbed on the model railroad or relaxing in the sauna, brings a stressed-out family man or an overburdened mother back to himself. You finally feel again and listen to your own thoughts. Whoever never takes this time loses himself. The result: dissatisfaction, weariness and flight tendencies.

HOW IS IT THE OTHER?

How strong the need for aloneness and self-determination depends on the respective personality. Within the family, the greatest possible awareness should be developed in this area. It's about how much time off everyone needs, not about sharing free time "fairly" and evenly. If the parents take care of themselves and the other offer the opportunity to retreat, that also rubs off on the children. As they grow older, they too will learn to pay attention to the moods and needs of others - without, however, forgetting that their own needs are also important and must be respected.

I'M OFF!

Unfortunately, it's usually not that easy. Time-outs in the family usually have little spontaneity and have to be planned long-term. That is why regularity is so important. Who freaks out in between, because everything is too much, can not always just go away. A stable balance between ego and we times helps that it does not come to that point at all.

HOLIDAY FROM THE FAMILY

If it turns out that a parent is really at the end, sometimes drastic measures are necessary. It is not just about a few hours break, real recovery is announced. If it is somehow possible, the affected partner should be able to treat themselves. The break can be a mother or father-without-child cure or a multi-day holiday in the south, on the coast or in the mountains. No matter - just away, in this case is the motto. As a rule, the farewells are a bit difficult, but the time spent alone is wonderfully relaxing and the return of a happy homecoming with new energy and a lot of power for the family. Incidentally, even children sometimes want a break from the rest of the world and the family. Even babies need and enjoy short times, in which they can completely pursue their own wishes. The older the children become, the greater the need for delimitation and time off without the family. In this case, always think about how you feel and go and respect the wishes of your child.
