Commenting
Comment is a sophisticated task to do on Steemit, by you commenting you engage with other Steemians.
Don't write this in the comment section "nice article", "good write up" etc I know you know all cliché words... when you do this it shows you don't read the article you only comment/spam for upvote and if you do this often you will be flagged and you may be added to steemcleaner blacklist.
But read the content and comment the idea/question you have in the post, with this you engage, make friends and you may get upvoted.
Upvoting and Curation
Upvoting: is similar to like on other social media like FB, Instagram. on Steemit you get paid when user upvotes your content either article or comment. The value of upvote depends on users Steem Power.
Steem Power is used to influence the system.
Curation
Curators earn 25% of the rewards.
If you are first to discover a post that gets popular you earn a bigger share of the curation reward right? Yes! so being the first means that you know within the case I want to vote on every post at the first minute but you see there's a problem with that actually there's a gamification with that because unnn,
if you vote at 10mins you give away your reward, and in 15mins you give away 50% of your curation rewards to the author, so a 100% of your reward is from 1min to 30mins(1-30)mins, so if you voted at 15mins you are given 50% of your curation reward to the author.
if you are the first to upvote with lots of Steem Power/if other people upvote before you and they dont have any steem power (which is rear) you dont have to worry about them, but if you are person with most steem power and upvote 15mins and the post gets $1,000 then you get large out of $250 but 50% goes to the author because you upvote over 15mins,
if you upvote at 30mins old and there are only five voters which non of those have any steem power and you say ok this is a great post and you upvote if other whales come and vote after you, you get 100% because you voted 30mins you get most so it's very hard to cheat. vote at (20-30)mins to something great.
Follow the below rules about upvoting to be smarter and more profitable. (10 commandments of upvoting!)
- Read the damn post before upvoting it, you never know what kind of crap you could be upvoting. I'm sure there will be many that upvote this post without reading it.
- Upvoting your own posts is recommended.
- If you upvote before 15 minutes you give 99.94% to the author and get 00.06%.
- If you upvote after 15 minutes you give 50% to the author and receive 50%.
- If you upvote after 30 minutes you receive 100% curation reward.
- The more upvotes you do in a 24 hour period the less each of your upvotes are worth and rewarded.
- The recommended amount of upvotes in 24 hours is 20-30 upvotes.
- Don't vote on content that is already popular.
- Upvote content that interests you! Don't upvote content that you think could become popular, this way you remove the risk of wasting votes on posts that do not get popular.
- Follow the 10 commandments of upvoting!
What is My Voting Power Percentage?
This is like an "energy bar" in a computer game that gets depleted every time you vote. You start off with 100% and then every time you vote your power and hence the value of your vote goes down. This makes the value of the payout from your vote go down. Think of it as a control measure to stop you up-voting everything you see. To see your voting power go to (https://steemd.com/@username)
Why do the earnings for my post go up or down?
The amount that is shown next to a post is a "Potential Payout". This is an estimated value of how much money the post will make based on the votes that have occurred so far. Depending on various factors, this value can go up or down until the payout window closes:
- If a post receives more upvotes, the potential payout of the post can go up.
- If a post receives more downvotes, the potential payout of the post can go down.
- If other posts receive more upvotes, the potential payout of the post can go down.
- If other posts receive more downvotes, the potential payout of the post can go up.
- If upvotes are removed from a post, the potential payout of the post can go down.
- If downvotes are removed from a post, the potential payout of the post can go up.
- If the price of STEEM goes up, the potential payout of all posts can go up.
- If the price of STEEM goes down, the potential payout of all posts can go down.
BOOSTERS
Boosters are bots/whales which upvote your post with a large number of Steem Power(SP) which results in more earnings (50% of what you paid)
HOW? you pay 1$--3$ to eg postpromoter bot, it upvotes your post and you get more earning than the amount paid.
Use https://steembottracker.com/ to track voting bots details (ROI, Next Vote, Minimum Investment, Total Value of Bot Upvote)
NOTE :
A bot might result in lose sometimes so make use of steembottracker to track bots ROI to avoid loss.
Some people also Use bots to promote their Post/Article to trending or Hot feed for more visibility.

sometimes i saw more good content but i don't have enough VP. what i can do just commenting on the post. this one is a good post. you show people the right way to do in steemit. even my VP is a bit low now, i still upvote you @yandot. i know it means nothing because my SP is still low too. but there is nothing i can do to appreciate your work brother.

saya masih kurang mengerti mengenai kurator reward, ada yang bilang yang bagus itu mem vote post orang lain itu setelahmenit ke 30.
Untuk vote diri sendiri saya lebih memilih oaling terakhir alias di hari ke 5.. biar semua kebagian..
yang terakhir, disteemit perlu networking, jika itu belum didapat mau tidak mau menggunakan membeli vote via bot (pake modal) agar bisa terus meningkat SP kita..

Tapi sejauh yang saya tahu saat ini itulah yang saya tulis di artikel saya ini . Sepertinya saya juga menjelaskan di sana bahwa upvote postingan orang lain saat 30 menit mendapatkan 100% curasi . saya tidak terlalu peduli dengan curasi karena SP saya juga masih sedikit :D tapi kalau untuk postingan saya sendiri saya selalu upvote otomatis ketika saya membuat postingan melalui busy

Itulaah yang harus kita hindari untuk mengomentari tanpa membaca isi artikel . Iya . Upvote juga tidak boleh sembarangan karena kita juga memiliki bandwith sekarang apalagi bagi Steem power yang masih kecil . Kasihan Voting Power nya kalau kena bandwith gabisa upvote dan komentar lagi :))
commenting is the most under rated way on here to build your account and your following. As you mentioned read the article and come with some suggestions or interesting insights. If you liked the article but have nothing extra to say just upvote it and move on...
I dont worry to much about curation (my SP is so low anyway) I just tend to upvote people I follow who I think write good content and if I get a little reward its a bonus!
comments not rated? by commenting on other people's posts you get their attention. but comments that according to the content of their posts. if you say it's not worth it you still seem to be reading less:D lol
YEah I agree I spend alot of time browsing and commenting on posts! SO many people comment stuff that isnt even remotely related to the topic hoping the author will upvote them. NOT HOW IT WORKS.
That's a great sharing @yandot. A lot of new user still do not know how to optimize the curation part.
