Is Steemit the substitute for Facebook?

Lately I read an article about this subject.

The article was great if it comes to explaining what Steemit is, how it works and what is possible. I am.for sure abit wiser now, although it was clearly written by some and for people who already know all about it.

Knowing all about Steemit is hard. Already all the expressions and words used makes one dizzy and feel confused.

If it comes to facebook, everything is clear.

Clear and simple it is and if not so there is a FAQ and a helpdesk (even if they are hard to reach). You live by fb-rules to keep it simple and you make many friends by simply adding them.

Facebook is completely different as Steemit is, even if I ignore the lack of privacy and the very high BIG brother is watching you aspect.

At facebook you will hardly meet writers.

If you find posts about content, these are mainly links to other sites. So facebook is great for sharing your contest and probably that is the reason why many people stay. You can also easily chat over there. Ofcourse the Discord groups do have chatrooms as well but it is hard to do so if people all chat through eachother. Also frequently the die-hards (leaders) are in a conversation and  it is hard (or feels rude) to interfere.

Personally I do not believe Steemit will ever replace Facebook.

Especially elderly people will stay. Simply because they are used to it. A large(r) group will use it to share their content. So there is and will always be a future for Facebook.

Will there be a future for Steemit?

I hope so. A fact is Steemit is growing. That will not stop. But also a fact is Steemit will change. Simply because it already is not what it says it is about. There is no need to fool ourselves with Steemit it is all about good content. It is not. With Steemit it is all about making money. One way or the other.

Good content with Steemit means:

earning a high amount at 1 content no matter if this is just one picture, 3 lines written in terrible English or the content is stolen.

Even the replies are seldom great or some people always give the same answer that even does not make sense at all!
