Interesting Competitions on Steemit
There are numerous competitions being hosted on Steemit at present. Some that I have got involved with are the following . The most enduring that I know of are the daily 'colorchallenges' started by @kalemandra (I believe?) more than a year ago. This one does not give prizes but does give photographers a reason to share a photograph as each day has been nominated a color, today Monday being the color red.

Another enduring one has been the Memechallenge hosted by @fibra59 which gives one an opportunity to test ones sense of humour. Mine is obviously not geared to the masses as I have only once managed an honorable mention. @fibra59 does give some very valuable prizes in Steem Dollars and is deserving of support. The latest challenge is here ...This competition has been running for 71 weeks already and has built up a massive following !!

A new challenge which I find to be rather enjoyable,challenging and educational is one started by @mrprofessor where he asks one to 'identify the place' and he shows a photograph taken by himself on his travels. This does get ones gray matter stimulated... I confess to be bragging a bit here as I won last weeks competition. Go over to his latest challenge and give him some support or merely just to test your location skills.

@mrprofessor does offer prizes based on the posts earning so at this stage it is not much as he is still building up his community. Go over and give him some love !!!

I do a daily quotation challenge identify the quote and win a good share of the steem dollars from the post. Still rather new so it is not a lot for the winner but I hope it will increase over time.

I gave you a full upvote .... but imo that competition will not work as Google makes it too easy (methinks that is Henry David Thoreaux (spelling))
That is true, but it does take a little effort.
And it makes some money so I think it is a good little thing.

The quote challenge just got reversed, works much better :)
reversed in the sense that I now give a name then the competition is giving the best quote by said person, partly inspired by what you said here :) @themagus

Thank you so much for nominating my game, it's a lot of fun seeing people trying to guess and even more incredible when you guys guess it correctly (it's not always easy)
For now the treasures are not that big, but once I'm able to power up and bring more people in there, things will get interesting. Pirates will have to start leaving some traps along the way and competitors will sword fight all the way to the prize hahahahaha
