Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 18/12/2018 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 18/12/2018

Should you be trading with Steem today..

Yesterday it was not so clear what was happening with Steem, but now 2 full green days we can see Steem is going up. But does this mean we are finally going upwards or are we still in pattern? Its difficult to tell buy we are still within the pattern so I am going to go with that. While it's looking good we haven't really moved since around ⏰14.35 today which is also when Steem hit $0.24. On the other hand Bitcoin as definitely started trending upwards its gone from $3139 to $3553 and while this is indeed interesting its still not broken its December pattern. If Bitcoin goes up just a little higher it will beat one of Decembers highest since the 9th. At these prices we continue on this survival mode era of Steemit.com, Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's own value to tank downward causing Steem INC a staff reduction of %70 and a possible threat to the site. Soon after this news there was a live stream for discussing what would happen going forward. The conclusion was to survive by cutting down costs especially getting nodes running cheaper among many other strategies which will still take some time to implement. The good news 👍 is with recent development Ned said we should be able to save enough to make it through the bear market, while this is great we still need to actually do it and survive through this low market. Steem INC are also happy to report that they have made some progress by already realising some of their improvements, this as enabled them to reduce the number of nodes running and the size of the instances. Wondering about SMT's? Well if Steem INC doesn't produce them someone else will, there are others who are working on making this happen and it's release could be very soon. It was surprising to see SBD's holding up so well today, but if you consider Bitcoin as been going upwards it make's sense to see SBD's shifting away from the $0.50 mark, we did see it at $0.56 a few times but it did do better yesterday at $0.57
