Your post is an interesting bit of arithmetic gymnastics, and thanks for the information. I would like to add the following.
When the total payout for a post is basically peanuts (a few cups of coffee at Starbucks or less), a curator who sits there biting her or his nails as to whether he or she hits the Submit button at 10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes, is not being very mindful. Since the vast majority of posts do indeed get no more than that “Starbucks money or less”, curators and commentators should not spend any time thinking about this reward system.
We writers who focus upon interacting with the authors by providing substantive comments to their remarks and thereby adding value to their posts should take the time to try to make an input that is indeed worthwhile from the point of view of content. And, as I said, we should forget about this rather odd reward system.
It is almost an insult to serious authors who habitually provide 'green' content of high value. Go over and look at the work of @paulag, and see how much she tends to be "paid" for the important efforts she puts forward on our behalf. You want to weep when you see her payout levels.
@lestatisticien, I agree with you, however, my thoughts about the reward is not so abroad like that.
I think the reward system needs to be understood by everyone, not for press F5 and see how much did you make, but to know more about the Steemit tool.
