COOL NEW STEEMIT FEATURE - voting power percentage
I just saw this:
When you upvote, you can now choose how much "juice" to give it. Now unless you have a decent bit of steempower it's not a big deal, but it IS nice that those who do have steempower can now reward a lot more people.

me too, but I think, I'll be putting it on 1% as default
so, when I see something that really deserves it, that's when I can then vote 100%, so it will actually matter ... wadda ya think?
I upvote a lot, especially comments ... it's just good manners :)
but they don't need a 'big' reward for that of course, except when it's a really good comment ...
so ... I like this new feature, very interesting
I upvote a lot too but I just put up with loosing vote % over time. I have to vote over 30 times a day to have it really matter.

This is apparently what Whales first go to try and now it is being added to users with lower SP, however it seems that still people with a high level of SP only see it... regular users with not much SP won't have it available for them.
ah, so thats why it didnt work for me ;)
Seems like the minimum is about 310SP to have it available (1M Vests).
Does someone know of a good guide for the current best use of votes? I have seen a good post in which the author made the argument that he would like to upvote everything he thought should be upvoted, but that wasn't currently the best practice on our platform.
So knowing that changes are being made, who has a recommendation for current voting usage?
Depends on your goal. If you want to maximize curation percentage you want to upvote first but as late as possible. After 30min of a new post (or comment) then your upvote has a maximum return to YOU. Below 30min more is shared with the author.
I notice aHUGE surge of upvotes on my posts right around 20-30min as people try and go first and still get most of the upvote value.
Me, I just don't care because curation rewards are SO SMALL unless you have a TON of steempower. it's really not worth the brainpower.
sounds in line with the bulk of the advice I see for minnows in general; build up SP by commenting and making good blogs; don't worry about curating. Thanks!

I hope this will persuade ppl to spread the love. I hate not voting for someone's post because there are only one or two others votes. and I know I am in the same boat as everyone else.

Yes, mainly. At 4SP my main objective is to learn, emulate and expand. I want to have influence, but with only 3ish votes per hour I have to be strategic. I want to be both strategic and vote for what I like
Oh man, I'm stoked! I can see some of the obstacles here, and day by day, they are removed by forward thinking, quick acting community members. Yay.

you man not have enough steempower according to @cryptos. Whenever I hit upvote it pops up. I have a decent amount of steempower (over 2000) so that's why I see it.

I just saw it appear for me for the first time on the most recent post I upvoted. That was just a few minutes ago. I upvoted some other things earlier today, and it wasn't there. But, in between the upvoting where the feature wasn't there and where it was, I converted some Steem to SP. Maybe that conversion gave me enough SP to have access to the new feature.

I haven't seen that bar - but then again - it might be reserved for people with more voting power than I do. Just putting in my 2 cents....except I think it's only worth point 0002. LOL
