I've Stopped Using Upvoting Automation...
Some of you may have noticed that you've stopped receiving auto upvotes from me around the 30 minute or 1 hour mark. The reason behind this is that in light of the service I was using to automate my votes potentially abusing them for purposes I don't agree with the executive decision was made to stop using / supporting them.
In the next few days I'll be deploying an alternative to help support the users I had on my autovoting list. While kind of a pain in the ass (for lack of a better term) to have to shut off my automated support this is a chance for me to look into other free of charge offering from the community in regards to voting automation.

My goal is to have a new voting automation script set up and running before next week, I will be manually voting some things that I think are awesome but until I can get up and running again with autovoting robots unfortunately I won't have the same output as I did before.
My apologies to those who relied on my upvotes for that extra little push on their posts.
I have nothing against the concept of autovoting, but I'm personally so OCD about stuff like this that I'd hate to accidently upvote something I disagee with.
Then it'd be awkward to remove the vote afterwards, hah.
I auto-vote to help support folks I figure could use the support or whom asked for it. Totally get what you're saying though.
I notice I get the odd vote from you the last while, and I appreciate it. I need the help lol.
Every so often I try and toss out some votes!

Hi Klye, I am a developer and am hoping to release a new tool called autosteem that might fit your needs perfectly and am curious if you want to try it as early user for a few days. I can send you details in steemitchat if you use that. My tool has very advanced filters for vote follows, but you can also manually review the found content to upvote manually if you don't want it autovoting. But this lets you save some time finding the stuff you care about. let me know.

Hey Unipsycho. I just signed up to your service and it seems as if when I click through the to the articles that your program is supposedly upvoting my name is not listed as a member who voted the post. What is going on there?
Just guessing, but you probably don't have the right key filled in then. You need the private voting key in the config to get it working. It's the most common probably and its working perfectly for me still for upvotes in the voting tab, views and browser, as I use it every day.
Interesting because I entered the voting key. my account shows up in the dashboard and the automatic voting seems to be working but then I cant find my vote in steemit. Weird. I will try to update the key.
I've been using the BARRACUDA app I developed. Its rough around the edges but has been fun/useful, and I get to keep my own posting keys golrang it! Seems like there is more of a need for it now than ever. I cannot see the value of automating voting. Voting should ideally be based on a cognitive analysis of a post's content. The community value of a vote is the degree to which it encourages the author to produce more, and its ability to draw attention of readers. Just because someone produced something that was liked previously, does not mean the next item will be equally good. Likewise autovoting uses up votes blindly, votes that could be used to encourage new talent.

At this stage I am just reading blogs and up voting on the content. Getting to know people as I am still knew. I did not even know you can auto up vote. :) Does not quite align with my values to just send out upvotes randomly however for curation $ I can see its value. I am interested in learning more.
I auto vote people that I feel put out consistently good content and I have people tat do that to me as well. A vote can always be reduced in the terms of percentage later. I'm using Steemvoter, was that the service that was abusing it and how so?
Maybe a lot of people have stopped auto voting because over the last few days I have seen my payouts drop and be less consistent when I used to hit near the same amount at the 30 minute mark with almost every post. Even though the quality of my work is for the most part the same except for a couple of text based posts but I did those after the fall off.
The consistency and reliability that I was experiencing was very motivating, and now that it's fallen off, it's very de-motovating. So that's an interesting effect of auto voting and also why I do it, to motivate those I vote for to keep creating and posting.
Streemian.com looks pretty cool especially the scheduled postings.
