How Do I Gain Momentum On Steemit?

There Is No Movement Without Action

Motion is caused by forces. This is how things in our world work. This came to mind after going through some of the comments I received. Here's a simple piece of advice to anyone who feels stuck on Steemit and needs help.

Take action! And after you do that, keep taking action.

Taking action over and over builds momentum. I remember when I first joined Steemit back in late 2016 I would post one day and then days would pass before I posted again. Usually there were long gaps between my posts and fortunately people were still receiving them well. But now looking back I really believe I would have made a bigger impact much quicker had I continued to post much more frequently. But I didn't. I could feel the momentum slipping and then just like that the gaps between posts became wider and wider.

When I didn't take any action nothing happened of course. This is always the case when you don't take action. Nothing happens. Things will move once you start taking action and the longer you take action the more momentum you gain. Once I decided to take action over and over I started to gain more traction with my posts. At this point I am posting pretty much everyday. I do have plans to start posting twice a day but for now the goal is to push myself to post at least once per day. So far this seems to be going very well. But I had to first make the decision that I would commit to taking action and doing something about my goals. Now you have to make up in your mind and commit to taking action over and over.

Things to help gain momentum with your posts:

  • Post at least once a day
  • Engage with others in your comment section
  • Create original content
  • Develop your own style
  • Show love to your followers
  • Give great effort on every post

Be encouraged. Nothing is impossible. When I look around on Steemit I see tons of examples of people who are getting great feedback on their posts because of the action that they take. The more action the more momentum it seems. I too am getting better at this but I am witnessing first hand the gains in momentum. But it requires movement. Even small actions can create momentum. The point is to do something over and over in order to create the momentum you want to see.

Do you feel stuck with posting on Steemit?

How often do you post?

What are some of your goals in life?

Momentum can gained by continuous engagement here in steemit and this should be like our routine works.

Thank you.

Yepp. I'd say the same

short term momentum is easy like steemiting continuously for 2/3 months but who are keeping that momentum for years are the real winners.

Thank you...steem on and stay blissful...

Yes. And imagine what the price of steem could be in a few years. This is why I encourage people to keep posting because it could be their future.

Yes I feel stuck posting on steemit. I have always been hoping and praying that more eyes can see my posts. Sometimes, I do not even look at the upvotes (I said sometimes), but for people to see the information contained in the posts. I therefore have to buy upvotes for the posts, maybe by then, it can attract more people.

Things will move once you start taking action and the longer you take action the more momentum you gain.

This is what I will use as my propelling force though.
I would have been posting everyday, but because I've settled to always give out quality content, which takes more time to compile, I currently post like four articles per week.

Some of my goals

  • To make technology as simple as possible and accessible to the common African man.
  • As an Electrical Engineer, I plan to use my expertise and research to solve power challenges in my country.
  • I am a man who is easily moved by others' sufferings. I therefore want to always see smiles on the face of everyone I come across. In view of this, I willingly help people rise above hunger and intimidation whenever I have the wherewithal. Steemit has really helped me to an extent to achieve this and I hope to really achieve much more with it.

Thank you @humanearl for helping us take life simple and making it better for everyone. Hope we all can make the world a better way in our individual capacities.

Buying votes can help gain more visibility and of course it can boost the value of your post. I have used voting bots before but I don't use them often.

Your goals are cool man. If you don't mind me asking. What kind of tech solutions do you have in mind for Africa?

Not actually new innovations. Just to help them all accept and be in conformity with current trends. For example, many, owing to illiteracy or fear have refused to make use of mobile or internet banking. It will shock you that some even refuse ATM cards, saying they are being cautious. These are few ones though. So if someone does not trust online banking of fiat, how do you make him explore the opportunities in the crypto-world?

Many people die of diseases and ailments that are curable orvat least manageable. They however die mostly from ignorance that they have those ailments. They can't even afford the cost of the medical test, not to talk of afford to pay for the medical procedure for a cure. This is actually a huge project, requiring lots of fund to embark on.

My goal is not creating new innovations persecution, but helping Africans measure up to the existing trends rather than always lagging behind.

One thing I am seeing with many Nigerians on Steemit is that they are building computer centers to help them make some money through Steemit.

But that's a good question as to how do you help them trust tech more.

Good stuff. I know I need to be posting at least once a day. I've been doing it for the last week and I think it has been helping bot in terms of engagement and in building that habit. I am sort of all over the place in terms on content. I'm not sure if that's the best way to grow my following, but I like to talk about what's on my mind. Whether it's doing a post on using the market because someone doesn't know how, or whether is a #walkwithme article for a contest. I like living life with people. You've said to go with your energy which is basically what I've been doing. You have any thoughts on it?

You are on the right track for sure. There are some who focus on a niche content and then some who have a broad range of stuff. I am exactly like you in that regard. I share what's on my mind. This way people get to see the real you in my opinion. So those are my thoughts.

@humanearl,
Those steps are really useful and valuable to all of us! I will try to follow them! Actually I am trying to do my best! But engaging with comment section is much lower at the moment! I will try to do my best on it too!

Cheers~

Steem on bro!

Post on steemit often make me run out of ideas for creating quality content.
I often post 2 articles a day but sometimes none.
My purpose in life in order to be useful to the world and the hereafter, and can be useful to others,
Thank you for sharing @humanearl

I would suggest creating a 10x10 matrix for example
Gardening (main topic)

  1. Tools for gardening
  2. Which soil to buy
  3. Which seeds to purchase & what to look for on label
  4. How to plant the seed & when to water
  5. How often you should water your plant etc

This will take a while but it’s a great way to stay organized and you can even make a matrix out of the tags on Steemit if you are creative enough.

@adson I think @remelsey has a great idea there. What I do is keep sticky notes around. I usually jot down things I'm thinking of on impulse as well as things I would like to talk about. This helps me but I know everyone has their own flow with doing things.

I record my thoughts on my smaller recorder. I can then have my computer transcribe them.

Oh ok. Does that help?

Yes, it helps me. My mind goes fast than I can type or write. A lot of times I come up with ideas when I am driving and the voice activated recorder allows me to safely preserve them. When they are printed out it looks like the ramblings of a madwomen. But, you never know what nuggets of gold you will find.

I am also going to start using the recorder to write my posts. Then I can edit them. I think it helps my writing process.

For every idea I write about I have probably 3 more that I decided to scrap. I love keeping track of what comes to mind.

I haven't heard of your particular process but whatever works for you , good.

I think it's a good idea, as well as I am starting to record my agenda, so the postings can be sustainable and also organized, thanks @humanearl and thank you @remelsey top its advice ..

That is so true ... people are constantly scared to create new content. I believe the problem comes from people not being able to talk about what they feel most strongly about. Imagine somebody was to ridicule your passion or your feelings.

This is why Steemit and DTube are great platforms... there's very little hate going around. If it wasn't for Steemit I would have never figured out what people like to hear from me. Apparently they appreciate me [talking about animals.] (

)

If you feel stuck just do something fun and film it! It doesn't have to be perfect! Thanks HumanEarl for your great energy!

I love this. You are right. People are afraid to feel vulnerable. Your advice is amazingly simple. If you do nothing else, have fun.

@humanreal, Definitely greatest Dtube video and important article how to growth-up our steemit journey. I'm glad to tell you that I gave my best decision in steemit I followed you. You really encourage minnows like as me. Firstly we must need to take action and then do that. I try do make 01 post every day and after get some increase level try to make 02 posts daily. Post earning might increase our vote power. I have question. What kinda of post I want to make in this platform? I already did some nature post in my travel. But I need to make different style posts. Good options gave to gain momentum on Steemit. I learn more about your posts. Appreciate your effort always.
Stay blessed.

For you I would say to post about the thing you really enjoy in life. It could be anything that inspires you are you like talking about. Start there. For example if you like cars you can talk about cars or if you like talking about sports then that is good too. Just find what your really like.

Thanks for great commitment. Yep..I agree it, I'll try to do my best.

I post once a week because I don't have much topics to write about. Also writing frequently will make my earlier post less valuable in my profile. Another reason is it takes me at least 3 hours to write a post. Taking so much time is not possible.
I hardly earn a dollar even if I post once a week. It would fall down to 0.1 if I write daily.
I'm concentration on building my followers instead. By commenting of course.

Well the thing is that creating content is not the only way to be involved on Steemit. So good for you that you are staying active by getting in the comments. That's a good strategy too.
