On Getting Caught Up in Drama

We've all done it, got caught up in drama over something we're passionate or frustrated about.

This is something I've always struggled with and constantly have to check myself to make sure I'm on the right path.

But I hiccup, sometimes I fail to keep myself in check and look back to realize my mistake. It happens every once in a while and as it turns out, it disappoints me.

I'm not sure why it's so easy to get caught up in something like this, but I know it's something that is a constant struggle for me.

I guess, you always just want to be one of the cool kids! You wanna be accepted and it's easy to lose who you are for a second.

Recently, I've done it here on Steemit because of a frustrating point that I endured. I don't like that I did it. It happened tho, and I'm upset with myself that I crossed a line that I drew in the sand for myself.

It is my goal here to be open and honest with you guys, and this is one of my faults. I hope to realize my mistakes BEFORE making them, haha. Hindsight is always 20/20 as they say.

I dunno, this might lose me good followers and support but, since it is my goal to be honest with you, here it is.

Again, I resolve to be better. I am treating Steemit like my job so...

What I can do better:

  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Keep mouth shut when frustrated. Take time to think before saying.
  • Realize appropriate vs. inappropriate venues for voicing concern or frustrations.
  • Give more praise.
  • Try and realize a drama sink hole before I jump in.

What can you do better on Steemit today to help yourself and others?

Don't sweat the small stuff, wipe your feet, change directions, drop those who stir the pot and steem on! Now whip out some good farm stuff ;-) Yup sharing to show others you are the change you wish to see so make it happen!

Thanks for the positivity and encouragement!!

I've been trying to avoid the Steemit drama, too. Ever since the HF, there seems to be an over-abundance of it. And it's hardly worth getting sucked into...but some of these folks are slick with their "tell me what you think in the comments" business. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. No matter how factually accurate or valid your perspective is, this call for discourse is usually the OP baiting you so they can have someone to shout down. Do not take the bait.

It's hard!! I'm going to have to be much more diligent, for sure! :) thanks for coming by and leaving some guidance.

It easy to get caught up in the drama in our lives, and in these instances we must remind ourselves and others of the more important things in life than the drama. You are a good friend and you are of great value to the whole community, so no judging from me ;)
We live and we learn @farmstead, and no one is perfect, which would be kinda boring anyways lol :D

Thanks Dan! That really means a lot to me! I appreciate the encouragement!

Problems are inevitable. Effective ways to deal with them or the language to even talk about them, remain optional. I think people need to be able to voice their concerns without feeling afraid of being policed. I like it here, but there is also lots of weird, but cool qwerks that can and shall be ironed out. But if we are too worried someone might get burned, how do we iron? Carefully and with respect for the person holding the iron.

It's over, let it go, forgive yourself. You've done the right thing and moved on

Doing my best. We are always our worst critics!

You have learned from your experience which is one of the keys to life. If humans did not learn from their mistakes, there would not be many of us around.

Haha that is true!

Nothing less than 100% perfection is allowed--ever!

Just kidding... you're human, it's one of the things that make Steemit interesting. Keep fighting the good fight!

flexes muscles Yes!

In my past year here on steemit, I've seen all kinds of drama.

At first I watched.

Then I participated.

Finally, I just ignore it and do my thing and take what comes my way whatever the platform does.

At the end of the day, the earnings from stemmit, with or without changes, have far surpassed the pocket change I was making online before blogging here.

So, steem on!

I had yet to really earn any income online. I hope Steemit takes an upturn. Things seem to be rolling down once HF19. Hopefully this is the bottom of the valley!

Though, I'm in love with this platform and I feel like I'm doing honest work. I really do hope it gets back to usual VERY SOON.

Agreed. IMHO seeing that the whole crypto market will continue to be depressed right now, I believe until the FUD surrounding BTC clears up...

Hopefully, then things straighten out and boom, to the moon!

Drama, I try to avoid it like the plague. I just write the other people off as "you cant fix stupid". I did a post the other day where I confessed a sin. They say its good for the soul, but I aint sure about that ;)

I guess it depends on the "sin". Hahah.
