RE: Steemit: The Curation Leagues - SBD and Delegation Prizes!

in #steemit6 years ago

Thank you very much Asher for so many things. First, I very much appreciate the fact that you are giving away sbd as prizes and that is very awesome for you to do!

Second, and more importantly I want to thank you for hosting this game for all of us. It is an excellent way to show people how to get engaged and make great connections! Your "Asher's League of Excellence" is a fun and rewarding game because it teaches us that we "can" do it.

I think it is awesome to see so many people I know from experienced veterans like @goldendawne @coolguy123 @wwf @samiwhyte and of course you, to the ones in the lower ranks (like m)e like @kartrina-ariel, @themanwithnoname, @lynncolyle1, @beeyou, @cryptkeeper17, @bashadow. The compeititon is healthy and I think will eventually help all of us! Plus there are many new names that are just finding out about this contest, so they will want to crack the top 20 too! This is great!!!

And finally I wanted to thank you for giving more delegations to the people you did! I know how important it was to me to get my first ever delegation from you and it was amazing! I'm sure you have made people's day and you are carrying on the spirit of @fulltimegeek and truly making people love the #stewardsofgondor inititative!

Thank you and I'm so happy to be connected to you and to all the great people in this thread! :)

What a lovely comment, thank you Dave!

The motivation for me to continue with this post comes from these kind of comments each week and it's now a real pleasure to find so many encouraging comments here.

The entrants range from brand new Steemians to ones that have been here a while, but both the new and old are still learning from the game and from what others are adding to the post in the comments - ace!

The prize fund is rather bumper this week, but I wanted to give some more back due to the interest you have raised over the last week - we had around 40-50 new names added!

The delegations are a product of what @fulltimegeek, @stellabelle, and others (included #stewardsofgondor) have done / are doing for the community. The movement has started, and I'd much rather support community builders and the pay it forward mentality by getting involved in what these pioneers have started. What I wish is for other large accounts to see that this is what will make Steemit great and put their best foot forward, and I think the best way to encourage that is by showing the outcome - A post with 100+ positive comments is solid reference material!

Thank you for your participation, promotion of this blog, and being fully worthy of at least 10 times the delegated SP you currently hold!

That is a wonderful thing you said at the end and I'm honored that you would even think that! Thank you Asher!

As far as your point about getting the larger accounts to notice, I completely agree with you. I realize that there are many people that are competing for their attention, and honestly of course I wish they would look at your efforts. If they have any doubt as to whether or not you are on the right track, they should just look at the responses in both words and actions! It is incredible to witness :)

My thoughts are that we all do our best, with a clear objective and a pure heart. If we keep doing these things then sooner or later people will see that it is in their interest to help nudge us along. Building a community (as you describe it) takes energy and time, but the reward is that the bonds that come with it are deep. I think that all the new people that have shown up in just the last week will be the next generation to help you, @fulltimegeek, @stellabelle, and the #stewardsofgondor to fulfill that mission... My goal in making that connection between your world and mine was to provide the path forward for many of the newer but promising members. It is a great thing for them and also for you all, because we all just became a little more connected! ;)

Thank you again for all your hard work. I know it was a lot of work for you and I'm happy to see you accept the challenge! I know what it feels like to be in your position and you should be feel good that you are able to help so many with your efforts!

Have a great week and hope you get some rest! :)

Thank you Dave, your comments are very much appreciated - I agree wholeheartedly and could not have put this better myself:

As above, the rewards for hard work come by way of the type and number of comments on these posts - I'm really glad to be a part of such a great movement and community.

Thank you!

Asher we are really glad you are apart of it too... Me especially! I am so excited about the future and can't wait to get up every day and see what happens next! So thank you again!

ps...I think this is the biggest sticker I've ever won in school or work! lol .... I love it!!! (and if you don't mind, I'm going to borrow it when I want to send someone else a smile) ;)

I've just woken up ready for action and this is the first reply message of the day. Without coffee, it won't be my best work but I'll just say thanks Dave, you're doing a great job here, and I'll need a bigger sticker soon 😁

hahaha... that's funny!!! I'll keep it up just so I can get that bigger sticker!!! ;)

Well, none of us are veterans for that matter I think. But you have shown prior to the delegation from @fulltimegeek that you are doing something for newbies with your work.

You are one of a selected few who are #stewardsofgondor and that proves you have done something and hence selected as SOG, isn't that something proud feeling?

That's very good of you to mention this!

It was strange how the curation league began and has evolved - It started mainly about financial curation and has now moved to be mainly about engagement and has over 160 accounts registered!

Thank you for your support and kind comments as always @coolguy123!

Thank you @abh12345.

It was strange how the curation league began and has evolved

Yes, this is really turning out to be a game changer and it's not that everyone can start something and have 100's of members join that. I think, as many times I have felt, more than the financial support, this is an opportunity for all of us to interact and interact with others and in the process find some more friends. Having said that, even an 1 SBD or 1 Steem of prize will be a lot for someone who starts on Steemit. Hopefully many such guys tops the list and gets that deserving reward than others who are already made some mark.

As this delegation process for league toppers started, I feel I can also add some of my SP to the delegation(I know I am still not earning that much SP on weekly basis, but even a small amount hopefully can help someone really needs) you do and I will be happy that I am supporting someone who is founded by @abh12345 through his leagues. Do you think this can be done or if you feel otherwise, I am happy to discuss.

Thanks for the message regarding delegation to good performers in league 2.

To me, a good placing here (top 20), especially on a frequent basis shows that the account is a regular good engager. I hope you can feel confident too that the list is a good way of showing who's working hard, and perhaps needs some delegation to take them further.

I'd be happy to see you or anyone using this list to decide who to share some SP with. Cheers!

To me, a good placing here (top 20), especially on a frequent basis shows that the account is a regular good engager

Yes, that is something to be proud of as it proves that someone is doing good.

And thanks for the green signal on using the list to delegate SP to deserving ones. Instead of researching outside to find the deserving people, we can use this.

Wow! I made the curation list... barely, but I'm thrilled to be on there! Thank you, Asher, for doing this, and thank you @davemccoy for helping me learn about this fabulous initiative! Love seeing you at the top of that list. I've got to up my game! lol! 💖

I was so happy to see you on this list... I knew if you showed up you would light it up (like everything else you do!)... Congratulations to you too and btw, you did great to be on this list out of roughly 150... Keep it up Katrina and love it every time I see you :)

Well done @katrina-ariel!

Thank you for your kind comments towards myself, and especially Dave who has joined Steemit with a bang and has become an instant credit to the community.

Good luck for next week!

Congratulations @davemccoy for being the topper again this week!! (I know this will be a repetitive process in the coming weeks).

You are really creating a war of messages with your own messages and the difference in points between first and second position shows, how much effort you have spent on writing the comments alone!! Oh, you are awesome.

I have to agree #newbieresteemday has given me an opportunity to know you and that has to be one of the best decisions I have made to join the team.

Happy to see that the people you encouraged to join the league are among the Top 20 and surely deserves an appreciation.

By now, I know @beeyou, @lynncoyle1, @bashadow, @themanwithnoname as part of our daily discussions on Discord though I am not much active for the last few days on those channels.

Keep up the good work and wish many more success for you as we move along.

haha.. I am now saving my replies to you til the end of the day if I can help it because we could go at it for hours... And I think you should take some credit for the week I had because we had several marathon convos! :)

I appreciate how you have not only guided us from above, but you've gotten down in the dirt with us as ell... Just like a farmer that wants to grow good crops, we have to roll up our sleeves and get the day to day work done too! You are taking the time to understand whether we are "hype" or "real"... And that is a very valuable thing that you are doing, whether you realize it or not.

All societies have separate "classes" of people that seem to evolve over time... While I wish it wasn't so and I don't think that way, there is no denying it is a natural tendancy in life. People usually want to associate with people in their class or above... But you don't view us as any less, and that makes what you are doing so special! You have rolled up your sleeves and given us ideas and helped us to grow hands on!

The great thing is that you will witness your first crops soon, and that is when it really gets fun!

As always, you are the coolest guy on steemit and (that's not just because you are @coolguy123!) ;)

Wow @davemccoy...from this Ontario farm girl, your 'farm metaphor' touched my heart and brought back some very vivid memories of really really hard work. I can thank my dad for my work ethic, and hopefully all of our efforts and dedicated work ethic will continue to bear fruit for years to come; I can see many buds flourishing already!

How's that for an addition to the metaphor?!...perhaps that can be a new contest :) What do you say @coolguy123? You in ?:)

Well, being a grandson of a farmer who dedicated all his life on farming, I know how joyful to roam in farms and how much hard work those people do no matter whether it's raining or under scorching sun,it's always a nice feeling to remember those moments and people.

How's that for an addition to the metaphor?!...perhaps that can be a new contest

Why not, let's explore all the new ideas you wonderful people get and have some fun working together. :)

Unlike my working days on the farm, it really is about having fun here and working together with like-minded people, isn't it :) Have a wonderful week, but I'm sure our paths will cross again before the end of it! Cheers!

Yeah, we are interacting and knowing about our likes.

Thanks for the wishes, we sure will be discussing on something as there are so many posts coming out on daily basis from team #newbieresteemday and of-course, we have SOG's stats from @abh12345 coming up in couple of days time.

Let's keep writing and keep working together :)

I'm in! Sounds perfect :)

I didn't know you were a farm girl :) ... Wow... no wonder you are so humble and nice!!! I think farmers (and their daughters ;) ) are the greatest people because they work hard every day to produce something instead of just consuming. Almost everyone I've ever met understand that you had to put something in to get something out!

In my field of work, its not like that... (finance)... There are way too many takers that think they have been gifted by God to take others' money as a reward for their brilliance. Its refreshing to be with people that give as well as the get!

Its very cool that you are a farm girl, now I can understand why you have such a lovely personality!

Hahaha Dave, there's a lot you don't know about me...yet!

I can look back at my days working on the farm with nostalgia, and of course it gave me a wicked work ethic, but when I put on my pair of 'realistic glasses', I remember a heck of a lot of hard work and hating to see the school year end and the summer begin! A lot of my 'city' friends could never really understand it haha

I'm glad to see that you obviously don't see yourself as a gift waiting to be rewarded!! You are the exact opposite; in fact, not to generalise too much, but when I first found out you were in finance, I remember saying to Brian that it just didn't seem to 'fit' the guy I was getting to know here! Perhaps you were a farmer in another lifetime :)

It's day time for me, so I have enough time to respond to you now Mr. big message writer, I mean Mr. Dave aka @davemccoy.

You know what, while most of the credit for me writing such lengthy messages goes to @abh12345 and some of the other SOG's, some part of that credit goes to you for making me interact with you so much with those responses, marathon ones as you said.

I appreciate how you have not only guided us from above, but you've gotten down in the dirt with us as ell.

Well, the thing is I am still a redfish (not even a minnow) without the delegation from @fulltimegeek, and I have come this far because of that delegation and because of the interactions I am having on day to day with all of you and SOG's, so I won't forget that I am still a redfish and that makes me think like a many new joinees and enables me to do something for them with the help of groups like the one we are part of.

So, I don't want to belong to any particular class, instead mingle with all classes and do what best I could, though the time we have isn't enough to balance personal life and social life on Steemit.

The great thing is that you will witness your first crops soon, and that is when it really gets fun!

Oh yeah, that will surely be fun and some proud moments when we witness that. :)

I can see that this week is going to be a huge challenge and Asher's computer better have some decent memory and storage to process and store all these comments!!! I almost feel it is unfair of to the others that we chat more than 5 times a day because we could win just with our own conversations... lol

I could tell from the minute I met you that you were real and didn't care that I was relatively new. You said the magic words that make me always perk up, "how can I help?". Right then I knew we were going to be connected and you've always made me feel like a teammate! I am not surprised that you don't belong to any class because you seem to just "like people"!

When I was running for congress over here in 2016 I had a tagline that said essentially, "Its not the Ds vs. the Rs, its "the people" vs. "the establishment""... At that time I was using facebook and one of my groups that I started, and definitely loved, it was "Team People". 1 aaaaa.png

One day I hope to revive that effort because its the people that matter to me too! ;)

ps... while I'm patient on when those crops sprout (you and Asher are also plants in our big garden), I expect when we get there we will be an amazing force for goodness!

Well, I didn't think it was possible at this point, but you just floored me. TEAM PEOPLE! This is from my very first post on Steemit:

We are One Tribe, the Human Species, we are all members of the same team, Team People!

In the same way, our body parts have to be "in tune" with with each other for the body to function properly, cooperation between members of Team People is necessary for the survival of our species.

As long as One person is homeless, hungry, or hurting, diseased, disabled or deceived, oppressed, outcast, or omitted, it affects Team People as the Whole.

When we all begin to understand that what we do for (or TO) another member of Team People, we are doing for (or TO) ourselves and ultimately for (or TO) all the Members of Our Team, we begin to see choosing to Love is the only sane choice for the survival of our species.

Love Every One as Ourselves. We the People, in tune with one another, have the power to create magnificent symphonies. We all have unique gifts to share, and gifts to receive, and the best way to learn is by Doing.

What would happen if everyone began to operate from a place of loving each other as ourselves? What could we accomplish for Team People as a Whole?

It's possible. It only takes One. What you do for One, you do for All.

I really DID find my tribe. Earlier, I was going to ask you if you had authored a book, your name was so familiar to me, I thought maybe I'd read your book. Now I know why your name sounded familiar! You ran for Congress! I'd love to hear about that!

I almost feel it is unfair of to the others that we chat more than 5 times a day because we could win just with our own conversations

I think that is not the case, why I say is that, if solely our comments are of that more, I would have been in top 3, but I am not and I am equally interacting with others as well, so no worries, @goldendawne said in some comment that she is not in leagues last week and I replied to your message that, even if we(me and you) have lengthy conversations or anyone for that matter, @goldendawne will come up with something else and will be in top 3. And the same happened in-spite of she telling she is not in the leagues.

And if you still feel we are unfair to others, then fine, let's cut down our conversations. :)

no no no... I was just kidding for sure!!! I completely enjoy our conversations and in no way do I want to "cut them down"!

I will gladly give away any prize that I win to be able to communicate with you @coolguy123.... So never take my sarcastic words seriously, I love our interactions :)

And yes @goldendawne is everywhere even if she says different, I saw that she said her mouse was out, but my guess is she found a way to still help at least 100 more people yesterday!!! ;)

And as far as you are concerned, I know that you are communicating with others. You speak really well through your comments and I'm sure you have as much fun with it as I do!!! :)

I look forward to seeing your comments and I'm excited when I see @coolguy123 in my steemworld page!!! Its always awesome to see what you have to say and to respond in kind!

lol- yeah- my mouse is still not working... dang Microsoft... but I'm still cruising steemit and working. I am becoming quite good with the touch pad on the laptop now. Watch out world! here I come!

I didn't think you would be "hobbled" long.... lol ... You said you were gonna wait for the Microsoft people and I said "sure sure, I 'm positive that Dawne will find a solution before Microsoft people do"... ;)

Thanks so much for the mention here @coolguy123:) This little operation is really becoming something, isn't it? I'm so glad to be a part of it as well...I think, with what @abh12345 is doing here adds to the foundation that we are all trying to create, and with a little elbow grease and some hard work, we are developing a community of friends, genuine relationships...it's the kind of things that money just can't buy. Cheers!

well said Lynn, couldn't agree more!!! I'm so happy to see everyone come together in this place in particular!

100% agree with you.

@abh12345's dedicated work on such things makes him on par with guys like @fulltimegeek, @wwf and some of the greats not part of #stewardsofgondor and hence the respect for him like others.

Happy to know some new guys every week as part of these curation leagues posts. The number of followers will grow automatically even if I am not interacting with the followers.
But, the number of friends will grow only when I interact with someone. :)

Someday soon, I hope to making a similar post @davemccoy ! You are a great example to follow, for anyone who desires to become successful on Steemit. It truly is all about our connections to others, and building relationships. Steemit gives us an incredible opportunity to forge strong virtual communities, with a win/win economy. Congrats on the top spot!

You are doing great @seaslim... I know you will be making that post for sure! And Asher is a great one to know and I'm sure you will find each other very compatible.

ps... don't forget to check our discord group.. you have 2 new assignments to do ;)

pps... they are right up your alley and you will make some new friends!

Thanks, Dave, you are incredibly supportive. I could not have made is this far without you! I'm looking forward to getting to know Asher, if you've recommended him, he must be awesome.

I've picked up my assignments, and am on it! Oh and hey, look what I picked up down one of the many, many commenting trails...a cute new sig:

seaslimgif.gif

Hope that's okay to include here, even though it isn't all that relevant. Turns out, there's a lot of great content here on Steemit, but I guess you already know that! lol

I love this link @seaslim; this is as perfect a place as any to leave it :) And I see you are settling in just fine too! I'm so glad you found us or we found you...doesn't really matter:)

lol... it does get confusing on steemit time... when did we become stop being the new people here???

Aw, thanks, lovely lady! I am settling in just fine, thanks. I'm so glad I found you, too, AND you found me. I think it was one of those serendipitous happenings. (Do we get extra points for using $10 words, or should I tone it down?) lol

hahaha, if not, we should just do it precipitously
10 bucks for this gal too lol

That is one compliment that I will accept easily, if I recommend them then I do think I have pretty good judgement! Asher's great ... and you're great!

just look at you at 47, I knew you were going to be a shooting star! ;)

Oh sure, I'm a real whiz kid. lol - I'll have you know if Lynn hadn't made a comment today, I would've never seen your post, even though I looked for it several times today. I guess I scrolled on by. Furthermore, is 47 good? I'm serious, I have no idea. I didn't pay attention to that part of the white paper. :D

NONE of it would've happened without your support, and the entire army of earth angels with you. Thank you, again.

Thank you for your kind comments towards Dave, you have been added to the lists in advance of asking :D

haha.. :) ... You saved me the trouble of asking!!! lol ... btw, @seaslim is one of the 3 members of my new mentoring program... I think you will like her! She works with the homeless ;)

Perhaps one of toughest and most rewarding places to be giving your time, bravo @seaslim!

Thanks, @abh12345 . I didn't do much, but I have big plans now that Steemit is a viable option for the homeless population. :D

It's nice to meet you, btw. Thanks for adding me to list, prior to me asking. LOL - It's all @davemccoy 's fault. lol

Congratulations man, you are really doing great here, I love your spirit and progress so far.
Thanks for the mention

I think it is awesome to see so many people I know from experienced veterans like @goldendawne @coolguy123 @wwf @samiwhyte and of course you, to the ones in the lower ranks (like m)e like @kartrina-ariel, @themanwithnoname, @lynncolyle1, @beeyou, @cryptkeeper17, @bashadow.

But i'm still upcoming and not yet a veteran, but I believe i will become one soon.
Thanks man

Well, non of us are veterans for that matter I think. But you have shown prior to the delegation from @fulltimegeek that you are doing something for newbies with your work.

You are one of a selected few who are #stewardsofgondor and that proves you have done something and hence selected as SOG, isn't that something proud feeling?

Thank you sir

You are right

You are one of a selected few who are #stewardsofgondor and that proves you have done something and hence selected as SOG, isn't that something proud feeling?

It's something worth being proud of, I desire to do more and also support more newbies, I will put more effort to get more result.
Thanks to @fulltimegeek for his support now I have and better steemit experience.

You are doing a FABULOUS job @samiwhyte! You really came shining through the last week or two! It's almost like everywhere I go, I see you!

Lol
It not deliberate, but it just happen we appear at the same place most times

It's almost like everywhere I go, I see you!

I hope to get back to this in a few days, as I am currently travelling cities and this makes it difficult to be active online, just trying to keep up with voting, as I have to reward good authors with the little I have, comments will return to full gear soon.

Safe travels!
Yes I had the last two weeks where I was off my game in comments and interaction; and you know what I noticed? I almost felt lost, as if something were missing from my life. Last week I settled back into my rhythm and my life is once again balanced. Amazing how steemit has effected my life; in every aspect.

Steemit is a life changer, once you are here, it's difficult to be out there without total participation on the steemit blockchain.

I'm currently going through this now

I almost felt lost, as if something were missing from my life.

I just hope I come out from it soon.

It happens. I know when I first arrived on steemit last year I wasn't sure what to expect; but now, I do.

And yes, participation on a high level is crucial to success. But so is determination and knowing what you want from it. Are you here to just get crypto? Are you here for the blogging platform? Or the interaction? There are so many possibilities but knowing what your goals are... is very important.

Being in a funk... yeah.. I'm just coming out of one myself. But in the end, I realize my lack of focus here was what I needed to see where I wanted to be.

Thanks @goldendawne
What a rich comment from you

@samiwhyte to me you are a veteran... You were here before me and have earned my respect by just our few interactions! I can see by your friends that you are an amazing guy... So while being a veteran is a subjective term, in my case I define it as you are someone who has more experience and knowledge than me and someone I hope to learn from!

And thank you very much for the congratulations and I'm happy to have connected with you!

Wow great, I was lucky to discover steemit when I did

So while being a veteran is a subjective term, in my case I define it as you are someone who has more experience and knowledge than me and someone I hope to learn from!

I believe we both have things to learn from each other, I stay this long before I got a delegation on steeemit, thanks to @fulltimegeek. But in your short stay you have earn some, that's a good one and better things ahead.

I agree completely with you @samiwhyte! I think we can always learn from others, and more so when you have respect for each other! ;)

I agree that we have some great things ahead!!! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the mention on post @davemccoy, otherwise I would've never known about it. Thanks again, we'll have steemit sabermetrics "davemackometrics."

hahaha... you are always a riot @cryptkeeper17!! Keep up the good work and I was glad (and not surprised) you were on that list! ;)

Hi @davemccoy its great to hear this type of comments for great actions on the steem blockchain! Thanks for this great example @abh12345 ! I just added it to the:

Awesome to read what you are doing @gold84... I think highlighting what Asher is doing is very important and adds beautifully to that list! By giving us smaller players a guide and measurement tool, Asher has helped us to learn how to interact better and more deeply. This not only helps the newer players, but it strengthens the whole community as the older members get more sincerely interaction.

Communication is the heart of any social platform, and by finding ways to develop it I think you are doing a great support to that effort! I'm happy to see that you made a nice comment to me too, and it is my pleasure and honor to make a connection to you :)

If there is anything I can ever do for you, please let me know!!!

Thanks for the comment @davemccoy ! Wish you success in your way here, and anything I can be of help, just let me know.

If you enjoy my posts, I believe your comments and additions will be perfect.

Regards, @gold84
