in #steemgigs7 years ago

We want to use #steemgigs to bring solution to real-life problems. Apart from our day-to-day life on steemit, there is the real world out there, that we come in contact with physically, daily! It is evident that steemit has a created a platform by which means we can help fix lives in the real world. Many of us have real world jobs, professions etc and many of us steemians are well versed in various topics.

Fellow Steemians need your expertise and you need to practice your profession to stay up-to-date and intact in your accrued knowledge as well as to stay an expert.

Use A #steemgig To Practice Your Profession.

Do you have profession that requires constant on-the-job practice?

For instance, if you are a crypto-enthusiast, one effective way of learning crypto, is "teaching crypto"! Create avenues for people to ask you questions about the crypto-knowledge you feel you have accrued and see how well you do answering these questions and when you don't know the answer; find the answers! Doing this and you would have killed two birds with one stone:

You would have helped a steemian in need and you would have practiced and perfected your craft!

To make matters even the more perfect, you may earn some SBD/Steem!

Within this post, we will leave a real-time example accomplishing this!

Are you a pharmacist for instance? How do you keep your memory intact, when it comes to rendering prescriptions in the real world. "You will need some practice!"

Are you physicist or Mathematician? How do you keep the your brain supercharged to retain those formulas in your memory? By constant practice!

A lawyer? You definitely need practice! "You can easily practice law here on steemit, while helping others who can't afford a real world expensive lawyer!"

Are you a guidance counselor; why not practice? Render counsel to fellow steemians within a #steemgig

"Doctors!" How about practicing some of your medicine here on steemit, while earning some steem/SBD in the process and helping many steemians who really need help or even comfort and solace!

There are many real world problems that need fixing and #steemgigs can help in a practical sense!

Nothing as fun and useful as this; "using #steemgigs to practice your profession or craft!"

Here Is An Example Of How You Can Create A SteemGig To Practice Your Profession.

@steemgigs also uses this means to implore some of the doctors we have on steemit to answer these upcoming health-related questions and we will payout some SBD in return! For this example, we will payout 5 SBD to get answers to a series of questions. Let's see how it goes!

2 popular doctors on steemit are @thecryptofiend and more recently @tfeldman:

Here are general health-related questions needing your answers:

1. Can "not sleeping well for 8 months" lead to Death?

2. Can extreme stress lead to chronic insomnia?

3. Why is it that my sleep is laborious, short and shallow?

4. What are the extremest effects of chronic insomnia?

5. Any recommendation to cheap, natural or DIY remedy for chronic insomnia?

@steemgigs is using this means to call on every health practitioner on steemit; "Please let's get to know you, so that we can grow our list and get real world help to steemians in need!"

Earn SBDs in the process!

If you are not a health practitioner but have suggestions etc please feel free to leave comment!

Each valuable answer chosen, from a Steemian Health Practioner is priced at 1 SBD. However, if no health practitioner comes to leave answers, we will pay for any 5 answers we choose at 1 SBD per answer!

This is a #steemgigs test run series of something great! @stellabelle looking forward to some of your feedback!

Hi @steemgigs, quick question: could I, and other Steemians, (have the permission to) use the image from this post when submitting our own #steemgigs or publicizing this initiative?

What's the image copyrighted under?

Hahaha, not at all. The whole endeavor is community-driven. Saw your amazing comment recently about #steemgigs on Jerry's post. Thanks! No copyright at all. The picture is for everyone! Google has something called autodraw that draws for you very easily. The image didn't require any techy knowledge to do. Just doodle anything and it will give you countless image suggestions to select from. But feel free to use this one!

Great! Thanks @steemgigs for responding so quickly and being so generous. I'll definitely check out autodraw; I really like the image that you created and it's great to hear that you don't have to learn how to use a tool with a steep learning curv (like Photoshop) just to make a cool image like the one you did.

I'm really glad that you liked my comment - it has spurred me on to create a post giving more details around the subject of #steemgigs and generally promoting them. It would really mean a lot to me, if you could check it out and help promote it (as hard as I try, I don't seem to have a particularly large following / readership and I think that this post / initiative is important and beneficial for the platform (and everyone using it)).
I appreciate your help.

Fantastic! Curious to know, as a freelance Life Coach, if I may effectively utilize #steemgigs - my assistance example:

  1. How do I motivate myself to make today as wonderful as it can be?
  2. What can honey (as opposed to money!) do for me?
  3. What are my best paths through food to maximize my energy level?
  4. What are the optimal timeframes for exercise vs. mealtimes?
  5. How can I show everyone in the world today I love them very much?
Thank you so much for sharing!
P.S. Honey is certainly one of nature's greatest cure-all's ! Enjoy in your green tea for a day's worth of immunity !!

@efrageek mira este post!

Thank you for mentioning me in your post. I just got back from Brazil and found this. I think some of the questions are difficult to answer because there are so many variables to things like "death".

Did the chronic fatigue lead to stress, which then lead to higher cortisol levels, which then lead to higher blood pressure, which then lead to heart issues and death...that could be one example.

From my limited experience (clinically) I would say that stress and anxiety are some of the biggest contributors to insomnia. Often people can't sleep because they are anxious about work the next day and have many things on their mind.

The best DIY is good sleep hygiene. Don't take naps and wake up at the same time of day. Eventually, you will be tired enough to sleep without thinking and can hopefully reset to a normal amount of hours of sleep.

Other things: don't exercise before sleep, don't drink caffeine before sleep, and you really should not watch TV in a bedroom before sleep.

The bedroom at night should be for two things: Sleep or sex. Nothing else.

As far as medications. This is a hard one. Melatonin probably is the best for no major side effects and for long term. However it's effectiveness varies from person to person. Benadryl can make you very sleepy the next day. Ambien can make you dependent in the long term and can be dangerous without getting about 7-8 hours of sleep. (For example, too little sleep on it while driving).

Try good sleep hygiene first! Many think they have tried this but many times these people are napping too. Good sleep hygiene is following all the steps!

Your effort here is not only one of a doctor but one of a caring human! Thank you! Basically, you completed a #steemgig and you have helped steemians in need with your simple act!
@stellabelle this part of what we want to accomplish too! Something like what secret write accomplished but with a free steemgig where people can get practical answers even anonymously to questions that they have not been able to ask or that we spot and willingly try to get answers for using a post and offering steem. For instance, there is this steemian, and who knows maybe doctors like @thecryptofiend and @tfeldman have some valuable tips but her cry for help never gets seen perhaps becos she is knew or in some cases becos she doesnt have a bounty to put forward!

Thank you very much for your time. I think it is a neat idea. Glad to be of some help. I almost missed this post and just stumbled upon it!
