Steem.Chat Contest #31 Winners Announcement

The 31st contest was about answering a simple question, What are the unwritten rules of where you work? There were some interesting entries and I hope we will continue to see interesting responses to the weekly contest and greater number of participants as well.

1. @g10a - I’m currently working as a procurement coordinator in a construction company, one of the main contractors here in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
   My employer might forget to write the following in their company rules:
   1You must work hard even without receiving a salary.
   Reason: Coz until now its 23rd of the month we still did not receive our overtime fee, we supposed to have it on 15th._
   2The employee is allowed to hit the HR manager in the face hardly if proven he’s not doing his job right.
   Reason: I really wanted to break our HR manager’s face because he can’t even provide an employee handbook for more than 5 years in his service now.
   3 Drivers must be treated as the CEO of the company, not as a driver. *
   Reason: Most of our drivers here act like a boss and don’t want to be called a driver but a doctor. How come they are a doctors if they can’t even speak a simple english words.
   4Once you are hired, Employer doesn’t care about the worker’s health condition anymore.
   Reason: We have a colleague a labor worker who stopped working since 8 months and believed that he has mental illness due to lack of foods coz he doesn’t receive salary for that long he might be thinking for his family’s situation since they’re dependent to him.
   5If you go final exit, you will get your benefits or remaining money for 48 years from the date your final exit letter approved.
   Reason: I haven’t seen an employee who went for final exit that received their money in the right time, most of them waited for 3 months before they finally got the money and a one way ticket going home.
   6 Employees are not allowed to see their pay slip and statement of account.
   Reason: I went to vacation twice but I haven’t seen a statement of my account, when I asked the account department they just replied “MAMNO!” means in english “Impermissible”. How come its not allowed when it is my money so I have the right to know if I received the exact amount or not.
   7 Managers, Engineers or any managerial position has the smallest salary, you just have to read the digits of their salary from right to left. e.g. $10,000.00 you have to read it $00.00001.
   Reason: We as the support worker once asked the finance department why we are not receiving bonus even a small amount at least we feel that they acknowledged our hard work. But the account manager seriously told us, bonus is only for those who have small salaries. Because we saw it in our naked eye, managers and engineers in our department received a bonus of 2 or 3 times of bigger than their salaries yearly. I hope they’ll add them in their rules so the workers will be aware to avoid culture shock.

2. @iseac - Where I work as a technician. The unwritten rules there are.
   1 keep tools back to the right position after use.
   2 avoid assumptions of any kind.
   3 you are not allowed to watching movie during working hours.
   4 pay maximum attention on your job.
   5do not use official tools 4 private benefit.
   6do not violate the rules and ethics of your specialization.
   7 do not expose the weakness of the organization to public or competitors.
   8 no Childs play when working.

3. @ayushjalan - Here is my entry for contest #30. As of right now, Steemit is my only workplace. There are quite a few unwritten rules that I came across after interacting with the community. One of which is the restriction on spamming people for upvotes and follows. Original content creators and minnows usually have a hard time trying to be seen among all the whales and dolphins, and the spammers make it even more difficult.
   Another one can be the restriction on bullying people for the content they create. Steemit is the place to express yourself. It doesn't matter the kind of content you create as long as you love making it.
