Norms
Melissa don’t want kids.
She wants a career.
She wants to travel.
She wants financial independence.
She wants freedom to do what she wants, when she want to.
She turned 30 this year and many of her peers are getting married and having kids.
As she have gotten older she realized it’s not for her.
She don’t want that.
Her bio clock isn’t ticking at all – in fact, she thinks it’s dead.
Sure, when she was 13, she had this vision in her head she had marry one of the westlife guys and have 2 kids by the time she was 25.
When she turned 15 the westlife guy was substituted by footballer sergio ramos.
She works with kids and look forward to seeing most of them every day.
But she's also happy when she goes home, and they’re no longer her responsibility.
She's happy that she don’t have to spend 365 days a year with them.
Don’t get her wrong, she enjoys them in that time they spend with her while she's working.
She feels like not wanting a family is very taboo.
Because it doesn’t fit the norm of society.
People tells her “oh she will want it one day”.
That hurts her.
She's an adult.
She don’t need anyone telling her what she wants.
She's perfectly capable of figuring it out herself.
We need to stop trying to label stereotypes on each other.
Just because we want something, doesn’t mean it’s their wish.

Totally agree! Social pressure is one of the biggest factors pulling humans behind. We will develop so much faster if we let go of these mis-conseptions
