STEEM Max Supply? - TGA Discussion
In crypto world less supply of crypto currency made high demand for them. To get a clear idea about Demand and Supply gap of a coin, you must check CoinmarketCap.Com.
When you look at the CoinmarketCap.Com you might understand, most of crypto currencies clearly defined Maximum Market Supply from the beginning of the process. When you search Top 20 Crypto Market Capitals you could notice that most of them having defined Maximum Market Supply as well. This value is strongly help these crypto currencies to survive in the top of the Market Capitals. But I couldn't find a Maximum Limit of STEEM (Max Supply) so far.

When I search this at Google, I could read an article which says "10:1 reverse split of STEEM Market Supply will happen in every 3.3 years". But I didn't see this conversation in Hard Fork 19 with current STEEM White Paper. Therefore, I wish someone will guide me what is actually going on with STEEM Market Supply.

Personally I like this 10% burning idea. If we can keep less market supply of the coin it might make more demand for this amazing crypto currency. If that happen, it might be easy to capture the Top 10 of the crypto market capitals and moving forward. But I don't have a clear idea about how it can be done. But with Long-Term Perspective I think this need to be done.
What do you think about the STEEM Market Supply and undefined Max Supply?

Ok, so I just read about this thing and came to understanding that Steem supply doubles each year. For example, first year supply is 500 steem then next year supply would be 1000 then 2000 and so on.
But wait, the cycle resets every 3.32 years (why such number? )
Year 0: 500 Steem
Year 1: 1000 Steem
Year 2: 2000 Steem
Year 3: 4000 Steem
Year 3.32: 5000 Steem (reverse split now occurs, and the number of Steem goes back to 500 and the process starts all over again)

@libert,
I didn't hear about this 10:1 burn in STEEM White Paper! That's why I am little bit curious about this!
Cheers~
The Steem and the Steem Power is basically the same.
They are not a separate cryptocurrency.
I heard the fact many times that says:
If the price of the Steem is low, the post payouts are also lower and the small accounts stop posting on Steemit during that period of time. What do you think about this?
If steem price is low, post payouts will be lower, correct but then you will get more steem in payouts as well.
SBD is a debt unit/IOU of STEEM.
From the White Paper
Starting with the network's 16th hard fork in December 2016, Steem began creating new tokens at a yearly inflation rate of 9.5%. The inflation rate decreases at a rate of 0.01% every 250,000 blocks, or about 0.5% per year. The inflation will continue decreasing at this pace until the overall inflation rate reaches 0.95%. This will take about 20.5 years from the time hard fork 16 went into effect.
There is no reset.
can u tell me how it???
