I'm So F**king Excited: Proof That SHARING IS CARING on Steemit Works: This Is What Steemit Is All About: Come Join The Celebration!!!!

in #steem7 years ago

About a month ago I wrote a post about an idea I had to try and help newer people move their accounts forward. We all know how difficult it is when first starting to make any progress on here. This situation is compounded if one does not have an extra fiat to buy STEEM for the purpose of powering up.

Here is that post:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@taskmaster4450/1ksp-pathway-to-freedom-for-many-on-steem-please-share-your-thoughts-on-this-idea

While that program did not go anywhere (perhaps I need to revisit it), I did "adopt" one person, @mariannewest. Each day, I gave her 2 upvotes at 100% voting power. The goal was to get here to 1000 SP as quickly as we could. My reasoning for this is simple: I believe STEEM will be $100 by the end of 2018 and an account with a minimum of 1,000 SP in it is worth $100K. To me, this is a figure that is life changing money for most of the world.

At this point I am elated to tell you all that @mariannewest achieved her goal. As of this morning, this is what her wallet looks like.

Certainly I can not take all credit for this achievement. @mariannewest put together the @freewrite program where people write for 5 minutes and post what comes out without editing. While not participating myself, it appears she developed a nice following and people are having a wonderful time with it.

The point that is important here is that @mariannewest is someone, with a little encouragement, was motivated to contribute to this site and help it grow. There are lots of wonderful people coming onto this site who can really push it forward. We simply need to encourage them early on. @mariannewest will have to comment, but I am going to hypothesize that getting a couple guaranteed votes a day with a bit of weight was really helpful.

I also want to give a shout out to @fulltimegeek for his 10K SP delegation to me. It was because of this that my vote weight shot up and @marrianewest is one of those who directly benefited from your generosity.

Do you all see how this works?

There is a major trickle down effect (unlike supple side economics) when we share our generosity on steemit. When we start to openly pass it around, magical effects start to take place. This is what I was describing when I wrote the sharing is caring post. In the bankster run world of fiat, scarcity and fear are the main modes of operation. On steemit, we see the exact opposite. It is through our sharing that the entire pie grows. The connection between @fulltimegeek and @mariannewest should be obvious.

Now for the fun stuff:

As a congratulations, I would ask that everyone who is reading this post click on the link that follows, and give it an upvote. It is @mariannewest's lastest post.

https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-57-5-minute-freewrite-prompt-three-grapes

Also, now it is imperative to for both @mariannewest (and myself) to find someone to do the same thing with. That person needs to put up at least two posts a day that you view as quality. Their SP right now has to be under 1,000 AND they need to be willing to keep the STEEM in SP. Powering down or taking STEEM out does not work.

For myself, I need a new pupil so if you want to nominate someone, please feel free to put their name in the comment section (do not nominate yourself).

By the way, this idea is not limited to just @mariannewest and myself. If you want to participate, feel free to grab someone you think can really help the site and make the same commitment.

My view is that @mariannewest will have an account valued over $100K a year from now. Trust me when I tell you it feels very good to help someone get that kind of money. I am certain that will have a significant impact in her life.

Also, I need to thank all my followers for the generosity with your voting power towards me. It is through that, in addition to @fulltimegeek, that my VP grew which could help @mariannewest and others. I am powering up as often as my fiat will allow but it is your generosity that is really making my votes have some impact. Thank you one and all.

And that is what this is all about: ALL OF US TOGETHER CHANGING LIVES.

If you found this post informative, please give it an upvote and a resteem.

Lovely man, i remember the post where you wrote about it supporting someones new account! great to see you actually with others got 1 person to a 1000 steem power. Congratz! keep empowering each other and we shall see great results!

I really like this. Its pretty common for a sorta mentor/shoutout hiearchy to form on content sites, but its pretty ad hoc. STEEM lets those higher up directly foster and build those below. Once this site grows to the point where we have a bunch of different niches.

As a theoretical example, say some new experimental music genre ends up getting a community on steem. Once a couple artists get successful, they will turn around and directly benefit up and comers, causing the entire community the develop faster/increase quality/be more successful than if their community ended up on another social media.

One thing I don't see you mention much is why this system will be better for the viewers, not just content creators. Whenever any new media comes along, most social media quickly devolves into a chaotic inconsistent quality mess for a long time before a quality structure emerges good enough for non diehards. Steem will eventually be able to build out consumer ready markets at a much quicker pace. I don't think people realize this solely because most of the whale pool is still mainly investors. Once more high quality content producers reach the top, this site will have a huge transformation.

You nailed it with the "scarcity mindset vs abundance mindset" that you brought up. It is by helping others that we receive the most rewards. (not just money)

I personally like to follow several people that I feel need a boost but I don't give them a guarenteed upvote, I just make sure I read and comment on most of their posts and give an upvote when it is truly something I think is valuable. That way, they learn which posts are valuable and which aren't.

Of course I only have a few hundred steem power so my vote doesn't help much but I think the comments can be just as valuable.

Thank you for the comment @littlejoeward....

You wlil get there....it takes time to build SP but you are in at the right time. Your few hundred SP will see like a lot to people joining in 6 months or so when STEEM is well into the double digits.

I think you keep doing exactly what you are doing, and you will be golden.

@taskmaster4450 I have learned more from you than any of the others that I follow. I wish to thank you for your advice and will try to follow your suggestions daily. Merry Christmas 🎄

Thank you for your kind words @wonderwop.

I ask you to read my latest post that just went up...it is of a slightly different tilt.

There is now a crypto designed specifically to end poverty through a universal basic income program. Everyone is welcome to join.

Please check it out.

I wrote my first @freewrite post yesterday. Thanks for sharing your love @taskmaster4450

This is a wonderful initiative. I would lover to help. @mariannewest was certainly a great choice for someone to help!

I'd like to nominate @axios who I just found this week but whose posts are full of passion and life and love. He really pours himself into what he writes. I'm excited to see what he would do with a little more influence at steem.

I LOVE the "adoption" idea! I may have to utilize that myself starting today.

And yes, being a delegate of @fulltimegeek has really opened my eyes to many new aspects of steemit.

I'm in with this!

If I could, I'd like to nominate @fixedbydocs

I think everyone with over 1000 SP need to "adopt" someone new.

It is the easiest way to grow the voting power of newer people. They need a bit of motivation and incentive.

I agree. I just posted my "embracing a steemian " post... I'm excited thanks to you!!!

Great stuff! Generosity really is fuel for the soul. Your excitement is just another proof of that. :-)

And I'd like to nominate @theshark. Dude has great output, but struggling to find and audience. (Granted, he only just started.)

I'm so wanting to hit that tipping point where I feel it will be 100 in 2018. If I swing I will move a goodly amount of fiat in :)

Read my converge series that I wrote earlier in the week.

It is about 6 parts detailing all the reasons why I am seeing STEEM explode to $100 in 2018.

I'm reading your recap in the last post right now and its doing a good job! The "street" makes much sense

You were doing a very good job. Taking the opportunity, I want to advise you in the pupils of my friend @olgy-art. This girl writes wonderful stories about her life and travel. Good luck to you and good.

Thank you very much! I appreciate a lot your attention:)))) 😊😊😚😊

This is exactly what I've been trying to tell people for the last three months. There is more value in supporting quality work than praying for that one big upvote which will probably never happen.

Yes the upvote from the whales it tough....they are under the same restrictions as everyone else, they only have 20% VP a day too.

Supporting others is the new model. It is the only way for long term success on steemit. Those who want to pilfer this place will only drive the price of STEEM down to 8 cents if allowed to continue.
