The end of Steems

"Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Do you believe that?

Imagine right at this moment, the Steem blockchain failed, every backup, every witness, every bit of data wiped clean. Would you be happy? You might get what you want? You might lose a great deal. What if it never came back? Would that cause you any heartache? Would it cause you any problems at all or would you just shrug your shoulders and get on with whatever comes next?

If you are uninvested in this at all, do you think you are doing your best? Do you have the right to want for more than your current situation is providing? Perhaps you are getting too much as it is?

What would happen if the entire crypto market fell through and every little bit of value was lost? What would you turn your hand to? What happens to your vision of the future? As far as the traditional markets are concerned, that 300 billion is only 0.2 % of the yearly global product. A drop in the ocean. Is it is a drop in the ocean for you? What have you really done for it?

Perhaps you are just depending on others to make sure it all works out for your future. That way, if your future doesn't turn out well, you can blame them. If you never take responsibility, how can it be your fault? Right?

I wonder what all of those highly invested would do? What do you think? All of those collectors who have been amassing their coins day after day, year after year being wiped out. I wonder about all of those small players who have been relying on tiny fractions of amounts, or those who quite their jobs to depend on cryptos. What do they do if it is all lost? What is their back up plan?

I wonder, if it all falls down, how many will be happy with their behaviours to get to that point. I wonder, how many will happily go back to the other platforms, the lives of servitude.

I wonder, how many will be able to smile because it happened.

I don't know exactly what I would do but I know I would take a few days to recover from it. I do have a life outside cryptos but then the last few months I have started a little investment, though it is little compare to many, it is still important to me are they are mainly for the future. But this is like a call to all of us, to look at it again, how our actions are contributing to the sustainability of our investment.

The point.

Better to have loved and lost ...

Anybody that's been through a bad break up will tell you it's better to have not loved at all

Give it a few years, and then consider again if you still prefer to have never been together. No guarantees 8-).

My bad break up was 12 years ago.

I can say, with absolute conviction, that I wish I never met her.

That's intense, man. Sorry to hear that. My two previous relationships ended differently... The first, was painful, but ending in us both agreeing it would be best (plus my mother and her mother got married shortly afterwards to hell, were we right! ;P) .. The second one ended in absolute agony. Took me months to get over. But I'm a stronger, wiser person for having been with her.

I'm all good now, married with a daughter. But I can say that part of my life didn't do much for me at all.

for some people no amount of time will make a difference .

Better to have loved and lost ....

How many have loved? If this is what they call love, they may want to consider remaining single. ;)

What would happen if the entire crypto market fell through and every little bit of value was lost? What would you turn your hand to?

The financial impact would hurt me a bit, but I never invest with money I can't afford to lose, so I wouldn't loose a night of sleep over it.

I would be sad though since this cryptospace is something I'm passionate and excited about. It offers new opportunities, a change from the standard we've always accepted and tolerated. I love that I'm experiencing something that possibly will have a gigantic impact for the following decades. If that would suddenly dissapear, it would hurt.

to lose the chance at that future would be painful, i think even the smallest investors would feel it.

This made me think.. I believe if it all failed for some bizarre reason, it would be rebuilt pretty quickly because people see the potential in technology and that it can do a lot of good to the humanity. Even if one lost all their invested money time and efforts in it, it would still be worth it I believe and I wouldn't be disappointed. The Channel Tunnel (a world famous tunnel linking the UK and France) was a disaster for the investors who backed it up financially, but look how many people have benefited from it now? I'll repeat again - Even if you lost money on crypto, it's not time wasted because it's a GIANT step forward for the human race.

it would be rebuilt pretty quickly because people see the potential in technology and that it can do a lot of good to the humanity.

Maybe, but he would be doing the rebuilding I wonder. The same pewople 'in' now?

Those who have the knowledge would have to do it. That would be the fastest route.

I've spoken my truths, I've shared myself.
I will have done my best (for whatever that's worth)

If it fails, I gave 'me' to it.

...I'll be sad for the platform, not for my lack of commitment to making it work...

I would feel much the same... that, and I could have paid my mortgage when prices were up.

You could have cleared your mortgage???? And you didn't...?
Wow.
For the last 20 years or so, I have been living debt free (well I have house rent I suppose, but it isn't much)

Your circumstances are much different than mine of course (you have a family!), but clearing debt was the best thing I ever did. (well not the best, but you get the idea)

It makes me shudder the though of being in debt nowadays.

My philosophy would be to always clear debts. Freedom. (but who am I to speak? I've also got bugger all! lol)

If everything is cleaned out we can't do anything but it will really give a heartache, I think it can give more than it.

For me it will be a classic case of nothing ventured nothing gained

If all else fails, try again. What else is there left to do if all the time, money, hardship you've invested disappears in the blink of an eye?

If you still have time, if you still have money, reinvest.

If it happened once and it was beloved, even by a few that might do it again, then why not? If you've lost it all, then there's nothing left to lose.

those who quite their jobs to depend on cryptos.

Hehehe I know someone on here who actually quit his job for Steemit. Won't call his name though.

Well for me truthfully ,I wound cry. Steemit has done what all Ponzi couldn't do for me last year . I dedicated my life to Ponzi and it wiped my account. Steemit was my only saving grace. That i eat well today and live a bit comfortably today is because I met with steemit so I will forever be greatful to this platform no matter what befalls it tomorrow.

Why dedicate to Ponzi schemes?

one thing i know clearly
that heart break will be more painful than the one with my girl friend!

lol... hope she doesn't read that.

what if i say she doesn't exist!

wouldn't surprise me. ;)

bdw she do exist and she will be of the same opinion!
she is also in love with steem
