Steem is currently the most active blockchain on earth right now and that blockchain is about to see more activity by 2018. We've been on several social media for years and we've seen the huge success of social media even without monetization.

Now what will social media be like when monotization comes in? Well that experience has already be seen by over 500,000 people on steemit already.
In other for the outside world to have the social media monitization experience, the team behind steem blockchain came up with SMART MEDIA TOKEN.
What is smart media token ( SMT) ?
Smart media token (SMT) is an algorithm that enables anyone to monetize their social media by creating token with the steem blockchain and those token could transferred with no transaction fees.
With SMT, new projects can start their own ICO with Steem blockchain same way people do with etherium blockchain.
Let's say you have a social media and you want to monetize your content providers, all you need is smart media token.
Choosing Smart Media Token makes work easy because after setting up SMT in your social media , you don't need to bother about managing the blockchain technology because it has already been tested on steemit for more than a year with huge success (I can testify to that mehn).
Like I said before, you can use SMT to run ICO. When creating your own token, you can choose
- Your Content reward curve.
- The maximum total supply of token you want to create
- Curation reward curve
- ICO's (fund raising) duration I.e when it will start and end.
- Minimum and maximum money (Steem) to be raised.
For Social media that are already doing well and want to monetize their content creation, all they need is just "to tap directly to the Steem blockchain with API".
To create an SMT, you need to create a control account or better still choose or use your steemit account as your control account but according to the white paper,It is better to use a fresh account or different account for the SMT control. That control account shouldn't upvote, post , comment, hold steem or SBD but rather have small amount of vested steem for transaction bandwidth (click here to know more about steemit bandwidth).

The activities on steem could be partly or wholly traced to its zero transaction fees. Truth be told there are some transaction I'd like to do with bitcoin but when I remember it's transaction fee I'd take a chill pill. SMT token would definitely take steem to that elusive double digit price. Well done.
Bitcoin transaction fees sometimes is greater than what I make from some of my post.
Oh yeah, before I do transfer the bitcoin must be substantial.
