Steem's weapons for rising to the top!
Steem may have suffered some setback in this crypto-winter, but it is building a next generation of weapons that can raise its rank to top 20 or 10. Here are the Steem's weapon that masses are missing, but they will be in the horizon soon!
Steem has already shown the power of community winning the @netcoins contest. Steem is added to stateofthedapps.com due to effort of the community. Steem is in talk to be added on @dappradar due to the effort of @therealwolf. The Steem community will win many, many contests and campaigns throughout the cyberspace. DOGE coin ranked 20-25 with having 5% inflation only due to community, probably due to distribution. On the other hand Steem is building a serious community with millions of users. If DOGE has risen from 50 to 20 due to community power, the prognosis is that Steem is on the way. This low price may not be encouraging, but its helping to build a better and larger middle class- orcas, dolphins and minnows.
True decentralization is on the way due to effort from STINC to implement RockDB. It means that most the non-critical data will be stored in off-main-memory or disk rather than in-memory or DRAM. It will reduce Steem node's cost dramatically that everyday Steemitian can afford a node with 8gb of DRAM. With 100s, in future, 1000s of nodes, Steem will be truly decentralized. Every DApp can have its own node.
With sleek node, Steem can be added to any exchange with lower cost. Currently, Steem cannot be easily added due to high cost of node. However, upcoming MIRA update it can be as easy as other coins.
A DApp owner with technical know-how can right now implement an SMT. Here is a few tutorials to build SMT right now: link1 and link2. Therefore, we can say SMT 0.1 is already here. SMT Lite or, SMT 1.0 will be available on March, probably a full workable SMT or SMT2.0 be available by Q2, 2019.
One of the feature of cryptocurrency that attracts enthusiasts that it can be mineable, one does not has to buy. Only rich such block producers in EOS can mine EOS. However, anybody from anywhere in the world can mine Steem through posting or commenting. It is not energy consuming as BTC, LTC, DASH or Monero. In fact, another level of mining using sleek node with further reduce cost. With MIRA update we will achieve a truly distributed data centers. Steem will be a competitor to SIA or STORJ coin too.

Well written, however, the community can barely grow if new users are simply not accepted or at least have to wait endlessly for the activation of their accounts these days.
Our missteps have also created some great opportunities to take advantage of as the community comes together for a future of value creation through more DApps and user adopting the technology.
