@pumpkin's influence is like...
Since my early days on the platform, I remember people being curious regarding @freedom account. So many theories and scenarios...Some people suggested that it might be one of Ned's accounts, while others that it could belong to Dan. As far as I am concerned nobody has really managed to prove anything so far.
On thing is for sure. And that is, he has ~ 9 mill steem vested (aka SP) which all are delegated to bid bots but also to some dapps. There is no doubt that the man who operates this account is a serious investor and given that steem's price is at really low levels despite the current pump - usd-wise - this account is growing rapidly.
Now, @freedom has set @pumpkin as a proxy account. "I know, I know...that's old news." And this is a perfect example of how his vote can change the witnesses rankings in the blink of an eye.
If remember correctly the top spot on witnesses page was taken by gtg quite for some time now. But it looks like @pumpkin, removed his vote and this is the result...
Of course gtg is still a top witness, just a few spots lower, but since everyone's voting weight regarding witnesses only depends on the amount of SP each of us holds, only 3 maybe 4 powerful accounts are required and BANG, the top 20 witness list is formed.
"Do I like it?"...No. But it is what it is and we have to deal with it.
If I am not mistaken @emrebeyler and the @themarkymark have now @pumpkin's vote and support, so congrats guys!

Maybe it is neds @mindtrap and putting a "new one" in the top 20 probably is a move so that any consensus against his interests/SP would not succeed.
Might be...might not. I guess we’ll never find out unless he decides to show up
