Sunday Funday - Gotta Love 💖 The Beach

So, we woke up to a super fantastic day this morning. No wind and sunny. So, what do most people do on such a beautiful day in Cape Town? Can I hear you say beach day YAY! We love going to the beach and it’s also a great way to get the kids out of the house. Trust me, by Sunday they are ready to tear the place down haha.

So, after all the sunscreen applying and threatening screams of, “if you don’t listen we’re not going,” we were on our way. We generally go down to Eden on the Bay in Bigbay as @therneau is obsessed with fossil hunting and he likes to stroll slowing along the shore treasure hunting. Today he was also practicing what he preaches by walking around barefoot. He did a post earlier this week on Grounding, so he was connecting with natures energy.

So, while he was busy with this I was busy doing what I love, which is taking photographs and staring out at the sea. Well, staring as much as I could, as I also had to watch over the kids running and playing in the shallow water. Up and down they run shouting, “you can’t catch me,” and squealing with delight.

That’s one of the things I love about taking them down to the beach. Yes, they can experience some much needed FREEDOM. They can run, jump and play as loud as they want. They can truly express themselves as they feel they want to and best of all they get some much-needed fresh air and lots of Vitamin D from the sun and Magnesium from the sea water. Another plus is that they can get messy. Kids love to get messy, generally the messier they are the more fun they had.

The running eventually stops and this is normally when the digging begins. They can dig for ages and pile each pile of sand on top of the next to make a castle/mountain/fort or whatever. Soren’s even had a cave underneath it. We didn’t have buckets or spades today, but they made a plan, they do have hands after all and why must it always be perfect. I suppose it’s my way of teaching them to think out of the box and not always do things the way one should.

We ended off by meeting up with @zakludick and his son and the boys went off in search of treasure and Steemit conversation. In short it was truly a beautiful outing and we all came home feeling refreshed and happy. Plus we didn’t feel so bad for being super lazy the rest of the day.
