In this 5th issue of Music Today, we discover and highlight five (5) extraordinary music posts from all over the Steemit community.
Music Today is a SMA Community Initiative aimed at making sure the time and effort Steemians passionate about music are recognized, rewarded, and given the feedback they deserve.
What is the Steem Music Alliance? (SMA)
The Steem Music Alliance (SMA) is a community-based network platform that connects musical creatives, as well as, music lovers. We offer the opportunity for people to engage, collaborate, and grow.
We are a dynamic, collaborative group of over 500+ members with the goal to help each other in the pursuit of reaching our potential and dreams.
Our curators scoured the #music, #sma , and other music-related tags to find some incredible music-related content to showcase and highlight to the community.
All of these posts below were voted on by the @smacommunity trail which is comprised of souls who care about music and music-related content here on Steemit.

Tubular Bells | by: @danig
Holy smokes what an absolutely uplifting piano and bells tune from @danig using a classic theme song from the Exorcist movie.
Such a beautiful arrangement and hits the soul. Just listening to this piece raised my vibrations and put me at peace. This is 5+ minutes of incredible music that will put you at ease. What a talent.
And absolutely love how @danig shows us how he created this arrangement and how he shares useful knowledge in his Steemit post.
This is such an ideal example of a quality music post as it contains music knowledge, insights behind the creation, and a high quality tune.

Yesssssssssssssssss what an absolutely catchy and socially conscious song by @nathankaye.
What a way to bring awareness to the many addictions and distractions we the human race have and at what cost.
Your vocals are absolutely beautiful and lyrics are so meaningful. And those instruments yessss such top-quality in my opinion and man do you know how to make a song catchy.
Appreciate you sharing the backstory behind this creation and your inspiring call to action. It is time we wake up and understand the consequences of our actions.
"When will distraction turn to realization."
One day hopefully soon especially with uplifting awareness like this classic.

Plug's Island Uke| by @plugdeux
What an absolutely peaceful and soothing tune from @plugdeux.
The combination of vocals, that pure ukulele, and those waves crashing create the ultimate tropical, beach-side track. The waves are from a field recorder as well how cool is that.
Absolutely love the ambiance you create with this track and if you close your eyes you can picture sitting on the beach, feet in the ocean, listening to this while the waves crash up on to you.
If you need a stress-reliever or just want to listen to an amazing ukulele inspired-tune this is Steemit post for you.
Appreciate all the time and effort that went into creating this magical tropical tune.

Learning: Magic-Rude (Ukulele Fingerstyle) TABS | by: @ukuleletutorials
Learning tabs for certain songs for the ukulele is surely a difficult task and @ukuleletutorials does such an awesome job of helping others learn how to play Magic-Rude.
Love how he shows the videos he learned from and gives an awesome backstory [he has been shooed away from a few daughters ;)] to why this song and his process behind learning this song.
He even provides tabs for the audience to use as a foundation. What an epic guy.
Stay tuned for his Open Mic entry this week as he will be performing this song.

Wow what a face melting track from @sunra, @tassproject, and Chris Stoger.
"The only rule... there are no rules."
Ay get it; love how this tune just flows full of emotion and definitely wakes you up and demands your full attention.
That guitar (especially around 0:23 sets that tone) holy smokes is absolutely incredible. And then segment starting at 1:03 yesssssss what emotion and passion. And that turntable around 1:48 love that what a vibe you create with it.
I know this is the pre-version but man o man is this a wicked performance. No doubt looking forward to the final version.
