TO ALL PARENTS WITH YOUNG KIDS GOING BACK TO SCHOOL/IN SCHOOL. PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:

(Peace fam, this is a bit off topic from what i'd typically post, but I thought it was relevant nonetheless to post because it's something very important to me, and should be important to any parents out there.)

I do feel for some of these kids, if they were anything like me, the reasons they didn't wanna go back to school (High school mostly) had little to do with actual schoolwork.

. I hated the fashion show, being looked down on or made fun of because of my clothes. (That FUCKED up my confidence A LOT)
. I hated the egos, the conflicts, always feeling like there was danger afoot because niggas didn't play fair.
. I hated having to worry about someone wanting to fight u or start with u for stupid shit, and then that person wants to go get someone else and so on. (I got jumped over nothing and the school did nothing about it, which made me start carrying weapons).
. I hated the congested environment, I could almost NEVER focus in class, especially when there was those 1 or 2 kids who always disrupted the class and WE suffered for it. It made me not care about being educated but rather just going to enough classes to not get caught by Truancy when I skipped.

So i'd advise you parents to truly CHECK IN ON YOUR KIDS, and never judge them for what they tell you, and understand when they say "I'm good" or "nothing is bothering me", that may be the furthest thing from the truth. Jr. High (Middle School) and High School were some of the darkest periods of my life, and I didn't know it. I'm just fortunate that camera phones weren't really as accessible as they are now.
