Scammer Alert - @val-a clone tries to access your accounts
Scammer on Steemit.chat (again)
Yesterday I was getting excited after a message by @val-a (on steemit.chat) telling me he likes my music and content and that he would love to delegate over 500k SteemPower to me - I was like - wow really, kidding me - we had a conversation on steemit.chat and I first believed it is true. After some exchange the room was "read-only" which made be sad as I could not organize my massive piece of Power. After 5 minutes I got the next message from the account "val.a" on steemit.chat.
Without an official evidence I doubt this was sent by the real @val-a - this must be a scammer so be careful. This guy said he wants to delegate me his Power but needs to access my accoutn for that.
NEVER ever Give out your Keys to anyone and especially doublecheck and think if the offers sounds too good to be true.
This guys sent a screenshot of "his" wallet where every Power was delegate anyway - so it would have taken already 7 days for him to delegate to anyone else if it would have been him.
I hate those things!
It's really unbelievable what people are capable of.
I'm beginning to feel it is getting out of hand. From identify thieves/posers to people promising SBD payouts on posts and not delivering. There are all kinds of scam artists on here.
Presently, Steemit seems a bit Wild West-ish in terms of justice which may not present a strong enough deincentive for these guys to stop. Too many just don't get caught I imagine.
The typical user may not be very shrewd or discerning. For every few of us that expose them, there are probably 100 that they succeed. It really grinds my gears.

wow, that's definitely not a good situation, so maybe its a blessing in disguise that I have not been able to sign in on chat up to now! But if this guy is what we think then perhaps he should be removed altogether before he tries again.
yeah, you got luck - in general it is a nice chat environment but we have these scammers everywhere it seems in society

Oh man that's really sad instead of trying such underhanded methods he could use that time to write good posts and earn himself.
I have never use steemit chat before... not yet... cannot cope with too many chat groups... I am mostly in stealth mode.. as usual... but thanks for the alert.. keys and passwords are very very very personal and important.. and should meant for personal usage only....
I get all kinds of strange messages in steemit chat. I only use it once in a while to promote posts and as soon as I do I get 3-4 notifications of weirdos! A couple of them just send me their daily posts over there now. I just never look...
Strange messages are what we have to accept it seems, i read them when they at least try to explain what they want. But such scamming is criminal
I agree. I get a bit of that on other sites. Anytime someone wants to send me money, I tell them to send me their links first and I send them mine. I have about 30 of them on many platforms in several niches. That doesn't work at steemit though since so many are anonymous.
