The popular quote "Live full, die empty” has been linked to Les Brown in his bid to communicate how we can tap our full potentials and realize our dreams. Trully, every purpose-driven man will always have a think and rethink on that narrative.

In the past few weeks, I have discovered how it has become nearly impossible to talk about purpose each time I address my youth group. I just find how easy it is to be able to link every piece of lesson in my Bible class would be linked to purpose. In reality, our lives as Christians are inseparable from purpose. This is because our God is a God o purpose and He expects all of His to live and fulfil same.

In the book of Hebrews 10, we see Jesus Christ echo his commitment to fulfill all that was written about Him and indeed, he fulfilled as contained in John 17.

It will be greatly devastating for any one of us to die without reaching our potential and accomplishing all that has been written about us.

As I pen this blog, I am aware that my purpose is to be a voice for the people around me , to teach and declare the acceptable will of God. However, each day will not pass without my yearning to accomplish every task God has designed for me. We need to understand that each day comes with its peculiarities: some with lessons, discipline, gifts, all you may think of, both sad and good. In all God means for our blessings if we open up ourselves to Him and allow Him sit on us.

The psalmist in the 90th chapter was inspired by the Holy Spirit as he penned this prayer which should as well be ours each time we awake to the consciousness that we are a part of a new day.

‘‘Oh! Teach us to live well! Teach us to live wisely...’’ – Psalm 90:12, The Message Bible.

‘‘Teach us how short our life is, so that we may become wise.’’ – Psalm 90:12, Good News Translation.

‘‘Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.’’
– Psalm 90:12, Living Bible

I wish that we may draw a few lessons from the above passage:

1: Live Intentionally

One way we can live an intentional life is by living according to design. Psalm 139 explains how God weaved each one of us uniquely so we can be fit to shoulder all He has designed for us. We must discover this and go for it. The scripture is the basis of God's design of the universe. In it we will discover our purpose.

In Ephesians 2:10, the scripture calls us to the consciousness that ‘‘we are God’s workmanship…’’

That word, workmanship, in Greeek is ‘poi-ema.’ It means ‘something that is made.

Workmanship carries the connotation of a work of art. It shows that we are not just made, but we are made to specification and for a specific purpose. Simply out, we have to understand that we are a product of an intelligent design. Just like a sculpture, a piece of classical music, an embroidery, we all were built with accurate specification according to the Designer's wish and essence.

Our greatest quest should be how to discover the designer's blueprint for our lives. Anyone who fails to identify this will be wasting precious resources placed at our disposal by our creator - God.
