STEEMIT REVIEW: A NEWBIE'S EXPERIENCE
Today marks the ninth day for me on steemit and I just wanted to share this short post about my experience so far.
The community
I have had a pleasant time interacting with everyone I've intermingled with on this platform. The people here are just awesome. Complete strangers have welcomed me, exchanged pleasantries, wished me well and even went as far as giving me tips on how to succeed.
For all the love I received I tried my best to reciprocate. I joined a few discord groups that have been extremely helpful in helping me find my feet. The people in these groups have been my pillars and sources of motivation. Without them I would have given in on the third day of my short journey.
Present outlook and goals
When I first heard of steemit I was sceptical to say the least. I just couldn't understand how a platform could pay people just for writing posts. Something inside pushed me to research it a bit more. Maybe it's just my curiosity and my 'don't knock it till you try it' attitude. Whatever it is, I'm glad it forced me to dwell deeper into steemit.
I LOVE THIS PLATFORM. I love the communities, the people, the interactions; the genuine responses on comments… I just love everything about it.
My goal for the next few months is to be a dolphin. In a year or two I plan to be bigger. I'll see where I go from there. I aim to be in a position where I will be able to help minnows as much as I am being supported as a minnow
Earnings
The last I checked I had earned just over $50 in 7 days. I haven't checked since then. I only want to check once a week so that I can see significant increases in my earnings to keep me motivated.
$50 isn't a lot by many people's standards but I've worked hard for that money and I appreciate it.
Conclusion
It has just been over a week since I've started but I already feel at home here. This place helps with two very important aspects that I've been trying to focus on in my life and those are writing and reading on a daily basis. I am looking forward to a bright future on this platform and every day is an opportunity to grow.

Thanks. Like you, I'm new here on Steemit and enjoy the interaction with other Steemians. It is a very sharing community - seems that everyone wants everyone else to succeed. Glad to hear that you're reaching your goal of writing and reading every day. I wonder which Discord groups you're in that are so helpful. I'm in just a couple and would love to know about more of them.
Steemians have that "if one makes it we all make it" mentality. The first group is one where you enter through a special invitation link that you receive by purchasing post2profit. it's in the book. The other one is a group of my fellow countrymen called t@eamsouthafrica. Anyone can join in here. Just those two alone have propelled me here and they guiding me each step of the way.
It looks like you are doing great here on Steemit, @solomonsel! I agree that Discord servers are very useful in helping Steemians grow, especially in the beginning. I am active in 6 myself, though I may cut that down to create more authentic connections as time goes on. I look forward to hearing about more of your success!
I will only cut down after I've earned enough steem to overcome my bandwidth issue. Today I was disabled for more then 6 hours. This shows me that I still have a lot to do here. You are doing quite well yourself hey. Can't wait to see some more of your work.
