Song of the Day - "Strange Cat" by ćosmicatt (Instrumental/Hip Hop/Chillhop)
ćosmicatt is one of those producers that specializes in creating a beat, letting it ride for a minute, maybe a minute and a half, and then moves on to the next thing. This seems to be a trend in the last several years, and maybe it's a byproduct of the Dilla years, I don't know. In some ways, it's great as it leaves the listener wanting more, but as a DJ, it's infuriating because I want more track to play. I want to steep my listeners in a sweet blend of beats and harmonies longer than a minute or two. Sure, I can loop the fuck out of a track for as long as I want, but that's not quite the same.
Anyway, this track is a fun one. Syrupy beats with some chillout notes. Good for several replays.
