Random Japan #60 :: Latte Water
Hello wonderful and amazing people and welcome to the 60th edition of your favorite random look at Japan, the aptly titled Random Japan, the first of now several random looks at Japan and Asia in general from a variety of fine folks. Links to some of them at the end, so stick around.
Today, some store items, a bad (?) design, and some blessed monks.
Ready to see? Great. Let’s get started. Let’s enter into…
Random Japan!
Some random statues at a random small shrine. I believe one of these guys is Jizo and the other is Kannon. Both are very popular Buddhist deities in Japan. I didn’t photo it (tho now that I think of it, I should have), but the base of both statues were covered in 1 and 5 yen coins, offerings that are common at statues in some shrines.

I can see what they were going for, but when viewed from a distance the silhouette of the cherry tree looks more like peeled paint, making the entire logo look old and in need of repainting.
Every good school boy and girl needs a bento box, a gargle cup, and a placemat.
