Steem Vs Content Network Token (CNN)

As an alert and active participant of Steem blockchain -it is our responsibility to keep track of other developments happening in the space which are direct competition to the steem blockchain.

There are many competitors that have come up and have plans to come up e.g. Sola, lynur etc. However, the most potent competitor that I came across today is Content Network Toaken (CNN).

CNN plans to have all the features that steem blockchain has as well as those that can be possible with the introduction of SMTs. And on top of that it has features that are plaguing Steem not being able to find and circulate quality content.

Below is list of its key features -not necessarily in order of importance:

1. Its own blockchain
2. Consensus - dPOS and sharding
3. External revenue from advertisements
4. Revenue sharing among all contributing parties - writers, consumers, recommendation nodes
5. Communities
6. high quality content discovery & circulation based on repost. Allows buying of post before repost can be done to another community. And additional significant portion of revenue on post after repost is distributed to the reposting user and others interacting with the post in another community.
7. Any existing social media platform can integrate with CNN protocol. Their content and content owners then will be rewarded according to CNN protocol
8. A proprietary user and writer rating system has been implemented called ZhangRank
9. User acquisition will be further incentivised through multilevel referral rewards
10. Advertisers revenue is shared among readers/users as readers revenue
11. All other steem rewards like author, like, comment etc are there.
12. No inflation
13. 1 bn tokens issued

The below image shows CNN price behaviour since listing on 16th May. and They are listed as of now on three exchanges - IDEX, DDEX, and Coinbene.

For proof of concept - The protocol will be implemented on newsdog a platform that has 40mn users and 15000 media partners. The alpha version of the app is already available on google play store newsdogcnn

In summary three features are important that steem need to consider implementing

1. buying of post for repost across communities and earning revenue after repost by upvoting and promoting
2. Advertisement revenue
