The Life Lesson behind the touching story of the first photo ever captured and sent with a cell phone.

Nowadays taking a picture with our smartphones and sharing is a typical habit for many of us. But have you ever stopped to think how did it all started?

Today I want to share with you this inspiring and encouraging story.

Why was this apparently simple event, something extraordinary?

Well for the reason that it was an invention of “the moment”, by a father who simply wanted to immortalize the birth of her daughter and thanks to his technical knowledge he was able to quite literally improve a “cell phone”camera in the same hospital room where her daughter was born.

Phillipe managed to see a solution to his problem magically in his head

This story happened on June 11, 1997. The wife of the engineer called Phillipe Kahn was about to gave birth, and in one of those moments where our brain just “clicks” and we have a great idea, Phillipe thought about the possibility of connecting his camera to his cell phone using a laptop, and send the picture instantaneously to the whole world.

If only there was a way to connect them...

He and his wife decided he would go to the car, take off some of its wires, search for an electrical welding machine and start to “stick”the wires together, until a proper connection was created between the camera, laptop and the cell phone.

Ugly cables... (not "quite" the same ones used by Phillip fyi )

After doing this, he used a terminal software that he had on the laptop, to connect it to a remote file system (FTP), and then to a mail system. And when the moment in which the baby was coming out, Phillipe arranged all of this ugly looking cables, grab his daughter for the first time, and captured this famous pic that will be remembered for all posterity.

As soon as the pic was taken it was automatically sent to about 2,000 of his friends, family members, partners and everyone he knew. Being this the first ever picture digitally captured and shared online in real time.

What can we learn from this?

This story is another example of how us humans can make the impossible, possible. Many times we feel we cannot achieve something, or that we aren’t good enough to do something, and the only thing blocking us is our own mind. The funny thing is, since we can change our own mentality anytime we want, we can “magically” transform any blockage in a new solution and opportunity to improve ourself and got one step closer to our goals.

Our mentality can illuminate the greatest of darkness

As long as we keep ourselves focused on the positive side of things, and as long as we never give up trying and working our ass off, we will eventually find success and surpass any of the goals we want.

If Phillipe was able to manage and take a picture like no one else could at the time, and a woman 1,000 years ago was able to become the leader of the Vatican while no woman was allowed to hold official ranks, then we Steemians can certainly make this great project called Steemit conquer the world and become the new leader of social media in every aspect! It is possible, if we put our minds working towards the same goal, we can achieve it.

Countless stories like this one have already proved anything is possible. We can be part of a new one if we really want it to happen and work daily towards it.

It’s up to you, dear Steemian.

So true @dedicatedguy Great Post ! We can all make the impossible , Possible !! thanks for sharing in my #popcontest ! Upped and resteemed !! Happy New Years and Good Luck in 2018 !! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

wow.nice blogging thanks for sharing this ..now I know

Beautiful piece and inspiring. Even when internet first came into China, Jack Ma the founder of Alibaba took 3 hours just to load a webpage, just to proof to his friends the existence of internet back in 1998. Now that company is one of the largest corporations in China

Excellent example of people taking maximum advantage of the opportunities presented!!

Jack Ma is a role model for anyone who wish to succeed with having an online business.

There is always opportunities, we just need to identify them and take action in the most efficient way.

China had internet in 1998?? I don’t think we had internet here in Indiana until 2002.

during that time, china just opened up its economy, so a lot of companies invested in China and internet came along, but it was really really slow in 98
