The Trees

Growth can be either positive or negative.
You can grow in, or you can grow out.
You can grow in your skills, or almost anything.
You can grow out of a phase, or clothing.

You can also grow up,
And bloom where you are planted.
Or you can refuse to grow up,
Laying there lifeless, sick, and abandoned.

When we think of growth we think of progress.
But, sometimes growth is out of control,
Like kudzu vine, or our tempers that never regress.
You can’t stop growth; it will continue toil and rule.
